What about Owen Hargreaves playing for England? He was born in Calgary and didn't leave Canada until he was 16 (older than Rossi)!! That bastard!! He obviously can't claim the Brett Hull defense either (getting cut from team Canada, and then latching on to the USA).

Were never going to have any quality here if the players jet... Soccer has been played in Canada since the late Nineteenth century, and we still have next to no players. Goddam snow. Although not where I live.

At least it looks like we'll get a couple more teams during the next 3-5 years, when the MLS expands further... need that exposure.

I understand that players who take this route want to win - and I suppose that a guy like Hargreaves, in football crazy England will get as much or more adulation then he would in Canada... but players like him have a chance to BUILD football here. That would be pretty special too... Canadians would always remember you....

Vancouver will get an MLS team pretty soon. That's not a bad decision really. The support that Toronto has shown clearly is something great for the game in North America, so I'm sure Vancouver and Montreal would succeed as well.
