Could some one quickly explain the waiver wire this season?

So, from game-time to Tuesday, picking up new players happens thru the waivers, which are based on position rankings, prioritizing the lower ranked player?
What about after Tuesday, we pick free agents on a first-come, first-served basis like last season?
What are those dollar amounts ($100), some sort of a cap-room?
The waiver wire system, as it is set up right now, works in the following way:

-In a Free Agents Acquisition Budgets (FAAB) waivers system, each manager receives $100 to place blind bids on waived players. The manager with the highest bid at the end of the waiver period claims that player and that bid amount is deducted from the team's acquisition budget. If multiple managers place an equal bid on a player, the lower ranked player will get the player.
-All unowned players will be placed on waivers at the scheduled start time of their game. In Game Time Waivers, players on a bye week will be placed on waivers Monday night at 5:30pm pacific time.
-The waiver period ends at 11:59 pm Pacific Time on Tuesday. Unowned players without a pending waiver claim will become free agents at that time. Between Tuesday and the start of the scheduled start time of the individual player's game, you can pick up players on a first-come, first-served basis. There is, however, no reason to wait for the free agent period, since you can make a bid $0 on a player during the waiver period.
-If you drop a player, he'll go on the waiver wire for 2 days.

@acmilan @ALC @Ocelot @X @Dru @Enron @Fientina @Vinny Del Pogba
Polls up dickbois
Fucking Strayan Communist :(

This poll is a bunch of crap because it takes advantage of people most likely not being fully familiar what they are voting for.
Typical Commie propaganda :pado:

FAAB is the way to go, the other waiver system basically punishes excellence and rewards garbage, by making it virtually impossible for good teams to get any decent free agent. We might as well not have bothered to draft or, from now on, not bother to apply any tactics because we will get punished if we do well and rewarded if we suck.

P.S. FAAB is the way to go and is much more fair and also requires some strategy, managing your salary cap. This is not only more fair to players but also a more realistic implementation of FF.

So all you have is 100?
You can make it 1000 and nothing will change - prices/bids will only get scaled up/down.
In the end, it won't matter.

It's that second part I wasn't fully sure about - do free agents go on waivers or it is just players someone has dropped (like it is in real-life footie)

We are finally playing FF the way it is supposed to be played, in a fair and equitable way when it comes to the opportunity to pick up free agents.
Don't fuck it up by listening to Salvo's bitching, who will probably rig the poll anyway thru his friend's vote . Seriously, when anything good came out of listening to Salvo's ideas?

Oh, shit. I just checked, and we're in a bit of a pickle.

Because the draft is done, I can't change waiver method. But worse, the flex spot is W/R and not W/R/T. That can't be changed either. :wallbang:

Options: We let the settings be or I reset the draft, change the settings and import the teams as drafted manually.

I'm fine with importing the teams manually, even if it's a bit of work, since I guess this is my mistake.

Everybody agreed to the current waiver system. Not everyone is agreeing to Salvo throwing a hissy-fit now that the draft is done. Changing waiver rules after the fact would be unfair.

I don;t think anyone really cares that the flex doesn't include TE. No one noticed until you brought it up and even then, I don;t remember the league ever agreeing to make TEs part of the flex to begin with.

Seriously good advice: stop trying to tinker with what doesn't need tinkering ;)

We agreed on flex with TE, and I too was certain I changed it. I don't know if it changed the way people drafted, but if it did I understand why they'd want the settings changed.

Regarding the waiver system, I don't really think we ever discussed it.

Volleyball seems to have a bit too much free time on his hands.

Yes we did discuss the waiver system, on more than occasion, in fact - ever since last year's league ended, this new waiver system was supposed to be the "new thing".
Also, you used agreeing to the new rules as a reason why you needed people to confirm their participation this year - you said so to Vinny when you kicked him out and that was the first point you used to rationalize it.

I will drop out of the league if you change anything regarding the waiver system based on a whim and not a well reasoned, rational argument. I can tell you that much.
