I know I should post this in the off topic area but I want as many people to watch this short video as possible.

I am a secular humanist - I really don't care about religion anymore, I will get into debates about logical falicies and thats about it. As such my core ideology comes down to freedom, love and peace.

This is one of the most eloquent speeches I have heard expressing the core ideologies of humanism, by the great Charlie Chaplin :shifty:

Enjoy and if you feel there is a debate about what he says then debate it.

'The kind of person that can get themselves into a position of complete power is exactly the kind of person who in no way should be trusted with any power' - Douglas Adams.

We definitely need to create a new sub-forum for this stuff. Call it the Bleeding Hearts Club or Sgt Peppers Missing Bag of Cocaine.

Interesting video by the way.

since you think 3 words, a montage, and charlie chaplin's voice in the background describe and answer all of life's questions and problems, i have 1 word as commentary: naive.
I don't recall making any such insinuations (i've re read it and I didn't). I could pump hundreds of videos into this thread with great ideas for solving the worlds problems (or simply post john lennon performing imagine instead of this speech), but anything that is positive and enlightening should be shared....especially something as universal (free from racial/creed boundaries) as that.

thanks for the positive vibes i guess, but nothing here is enlightening and it would be pretty presumptuous to think so

I thought you hated the Beatles. You can't like John Lennon and the hate Beatles or you're as big a cunt as John Lennon.

I don't like the beatles. But John Lennons ideologies don't really come into that, I don't like imagine as a piece of music but I like the message.

Uh oh, here come all the Juventuz "adults" to put the intellectual smack down on poor Sam. :gsol:

It's just a nice video which discussed some of the ideologies that I hold core to my existence, when I'm not feeling nihilistic. I'm not trying to talk down to people, I didn't write the speech or make the video. I saw it, liked it and wanted to share it. If that causes a problem then let it drop out of existence.
