You asked Andy if he'd ever played football while being ill. I'm not 99% sure he has. Every football player has.

If you and Stu had actually read my post though, you would have realised I said he wasn't just a bit sick. If he doesn't play because he's not feeling too well, you can be sure he's been vomiting all day. And if he's been vomiting all day, something serious is going on.
It really depends on how ill you are , ive played while being a little ill plenty of times , there's no problem . However playing while being too ill is really useless , you will be out of focus and out of energy . Its always best avoiding it , as it could make it worse .

since it was a friendly risking tiago was not worth it, had it not of been a serious sickness and it was an important game then its down to the management to calculate the risks involved with my faith for one, but most if any wouldnt play if it was anymore serious than a common cold, and speaking from experience playing sports, even with a cold its a killer physically

We were serious about it too,no reason for excuses, our fighting spirit was present, and it helped us to make one of the best performances in the summer friendlies, our players did all the could, they simply cannot do any better than that,
against some of the best FCs in the world! Its simple, they just CANT do any better, for now at least! Its not their fault.
Luckily for us we were solid enough and didn t concede any more goals,
considering the great difference of class between our team and the Milano clubs,
they were not so motivated to trash/crash us completely, they just wanted to do the necessary (minimum) work to get the job done, as they do with all the other lesser teams.
If they were firing all cylinders, like we did and had a whole 90' they would have crashed us completely, we were lucky to avoid 3-0 scores,(for now) i hope we will be that lucky in the championship too, we should avoid humilitiang defeats, as it might cost us much more than 3 points.
Our weakest spot is our defense,no news here, luckily we have the overall best keeper in the world,
but Gigi also has his flaws, i ve always said he is not that able to defend penalties
and once again he was proved disastrous, i hope this doesnt mess with his morality...
Criscito proved he is not ready to be a starter but he is a very good defender,
we need a serious CB and he has to be, much faster than slow time, Andrade.
Glad to see Chiellini back and unfortunately had the chance to see even more of the Molinaro flops.(we miss Balza so much)
Iaquinta was useless, as always, Almiron was ok against high quality opposition,
Nocerino handled good the situation too, i hope Tiago can offer a little bit more though. Our team is almost shaped, we can clearly see that we cant have any real title chances for this year,at any case, we lack quality,a lot, but we have a decent team and we will fight for the CL position with heart and determination despite lucking the skills and quality in such a dramatic grade, our direct opponents Roma, LAzio, Fiorentina, Palermo doesnt look any better than we do know,
if CR discovers the word consistency at an early point of the season, this group has all it needs to take advantage of the situation...

Milan would have scored anytime they wanted, they did that right in their first attempt after our dissalowed goal, exactly when they felt threatened, they got serious just for once and scored the necessary goal, this is Milan, after that the dominated the game, we never really had a chance to threaten them, despite they were barely using 80% of their strengh ...

Thats exactly how they won the CL, this is what Milan does best, but usually they need more than a single chance to score, our defense is so bad, that didnt provided any real challenge for them, they scored at their first real attempt, in the past we were able to control the game and block all the serious efforts to score, but they were always able to find their way to our net raising up their play, this time it was too easy, they didnt even had to try...
The problems we have in defense will cost us a great abundance of points, by the time we get them fixed, unfortunately we lack the experienced defenders that would adapt faster and easier to the new situation, but that was expected and i would have done as far, as call it a "choice"...
we needed a good CB, not a loser like Iaquinta...

Nice post Cronios!!We just can't afford to buy any new defenders. It seems that we r giving Criscito his chance to play and become world class!!As for Buffon he is the best keeper in the world HOWEVER he isn't a penalty stopper. He sucks when it's time for penalties...Remember WC.6 PK 6 wrong decisions from him.Anyway,he saved Figos penalty at 2002/3 when we beat Real 3-1 at Delle Alpi!!Just pray for not many PK this season:D ....

Why do you think something serious is going on? I'm taking it you've never heard of gastro. Basically you just vomit and shit all the time, truly disgusting. Lasts a couple days I think but after that you're pretty much fine you just need time to recover your strength.

no goalie can be a master PK blocker...a lot depends on guesswork and any1's guess is as good as the next person's
That's not exactly true. Some keeper's guess but the really good PK stoppers like Jose Reina are able to read players by how they run up, where they plant their foot, how they approach the ball, etc.

Ok, so the Trofeo TIM 2007. We definitely outplayed Inter, albeit a second string Inter team, and deserved to win based on the run of play. However, despite our dominance we didn't really create anything clear cut. Iaquinta came close a few times but that was about it.

We weren't too bad against Milan either as we had a decent amount of possession and looked dangerous when we got Molinaro overlapping down the left and Palladino on the ball.

Players:

Buffon - I can't remember him having to make a real save against Inter during the 45 mins but he didn't get close to a single penalty. Make excuses for him if you want but this is a part of his game he can improve. Nice save from Kaka against Milan. 6

Zebina - Had a solid game overall. He tried to get forward when he could and there was a particularly good piece of covering to intercept a cross after Solari had burned Andrade. 6.5

Andrade - Not bad at all. He's strong in the air but I get the feeling a bit of pace could hurt him on the ground. I liked his performance against Milan though. 6.5

Criscito - Really growing into his role in the team. His positional play and tackling was very good, can't really remember him making a mistake. 7

Chiellini - Our best player against Inter imo. He was a rock at the back and reliable in possession of the ball too. His strength at the back is comforting and his ability to play more than one position is another positive. 7.5

Salihamidzic - Made some nice passes and helped out Zebina. Doesn't have the creativity or overall quality that Camoranesi brings but his work rate is impressive. 6.5

Almiron - Controlled the midfield with his passing against Inter. Was slightly less influential against Milan but he's clearly going to be a key player for us in the coming season. 6.5

Zanetti - One of our best players today. His effort and ball winning is key for us and his passing was good too. I like the partnership he's forming with Almiron. 7

Nedved - Quiet against Inter when we played 4-4-2, much better in the Milan match when we switched to 4-3-1-2. I was disappointed that he didn't get into shooting positions because we know how dangerous he can be. 6.5

Del Piero - A few nice touches and good passes but he didn't have a great impact on the game. Perfect penalty though. 6.5

Iaquinta - He tried hard and he was dangerous. People are bashing him but none of the chances he missed today were easy and unlike our other forwards he actual got into dangerous positions. Nice penalty. 6

Grygera - Wasn't really tested too much defensively. Got forward well but his crossing could've been better. 6

Molinaro - Had a tough time defending but looked positive when attacking. He definitely knows how to get forward and his running is encouraging. 6

Nocerino - Disappointing today. Didn't do much when he had the ball. 5

Trezeguet - Had a few touches but as a result of our lack of cutting edge no chances came his way. 5.5

Palladino - Our best striker today imo. He looked sharp throughout and his ball skills remind me of Del Piero's. Had a goal disallowed and another shot that went wide. We better not sell him or even loan him for that matter. 7

Olivera - Didn't look too bad in the time he was on. NR
