FFS ranieri said it ONCE, he knows the players have been waiting more than him so ofcourse hes going to say it. its not like hes named pre-season operation kill inter. plenty of managers say what games are crucial. all this is, is a classic case of :
'ihateranieriandwanthimtodiesolippicancomebecasueiamblindsightedandonlycareaboutpickongonhimsowecanhavelippi-itis'.
Name a top manager with a top team that has ever made such a statement.

You should not generalise. I don't want Lippi back becos 3 times is overkill but Ranieri aint a manger I have any faith in and to come up with that kind of statement is silly

Maybe some of you do not respect the likes of vinman, andy and myself but we speak the truth and if you don't like it tough diddley.

Some of us don't see the point in complaining when it is too late like some of you will eventually do, boring everyone to tears when things do not go well with us as we have enough foresight to know things are not goingto go well.

We do not all have a hidden agenda, i sure as hell do not, i do not go hoping Ranieri does not succeed but from the start I was shocked that he was considered, let alone given the job. Now instead of proving me wrong, he is adding to my reservations with stupid statements and some strange decisions on the pitch.

Some of you guys will always say i will give him a chance. What the hell does that mean? You have been watching football for years and you should know who will succeed and who won't. Iaquinta is not suddenly going to be a world class striker because he joined Juve. Boumsong is not suddenly going to put in world class performances because he joined Juventus

The best Ranieri has done in his career is his first stint at Valencia and that was getting them to play great stuff, not that they won anything but their football was superb. No matter what chance you give him from now till 2020, he is not a championship winning manager and neither is Carlo Mazzone or Graeme Souness.

But don't worry as long as Inter is not as successful as they were last season, I am sure we can all live with that and screw whatever Juve achieve as long as Inter do not win the scudetto

Word. I know some specialists for this (Andy, Vinman, etc....)
:lol2: Yeah, okay, Bubba. I've been nothing but optimistic during these friendlies, imploring people to give Ranieri and the side more time, just like I do with all managers because in my opinion they deserve a proper chance. You can't beat me just by placing my name in random sentences, you know.

Exactly. Then once the failure occurs, many say, "oh, we should have agreed with you" after calming down after 50 posts of utter rampage. I think some fans like to live in a fantasty world sometimes.

You made a number of valid points, but I highlighted this one for the simple reason that I agree Ranieri is no big time winner. I look upon this coming season as a year of transition, the "coming back" if you like, & with a concentrated effort a 4th place finish should not be beyond us. But the words concentrated & effort seriously apply. Milan & Inter are both stronger than us right now, a realistic assessment. La Viola, Roma, Lazio, & Palermo are not as strong as some might like to think but with our present squad & coach they will be our main obstacles where once we could have almost dismissed them...I'm not yet resigned to thinking even a UEFA Cup place will do by the seasons' end, but by this time next year I'm as sure as I can be that more changes will be both necessary & forthcoming.

I certainly agree. Many people here are imploring the management to buy older, better players than what we currently have in order to seriously contend for the Scudetto. But in my opinion, even if we do bring in players such as Makelele and others who are on their last legs, we will not be a serious contender because it takes time for a new squad to mesh. People are living in a fairytale land if they think we can buy random oldies and challenge for the Scudetto with 12 new players. It just does not work. So the more intelligent course of action is to use this year to rebuild, make smart decisions on the market and nurture our youngsters.

Ranieri is a good squad builder and that's what he'll do, but with him I don't see us winning the Scudetto. Not until a couple years, that is.

No they don't, they pretend they were of the opinion from the beginning.

I remember when a select few of us were anti-Capello. After he left basically everyone was.

Yeah indeed. It was funny when people thought we actually had a chance of winning the Champions League with Capello and his tactics, blasting others for saying we have no chance considering our league performances and methods. I mean, it wasn't that hard to tell.

Think of his tactics what you will, his track record is still amazing. Two scudetti in as many attempts. Always in top spot, during his time with us. He was a perfect fit for us at the time, certainly a perfect fit for the triade. All about winning.

I also remember a certain Swedish striker receiving heavy praise for mediocre displays.

Zero Scudetti according to my calculations.

    :disagree:

Dude , juve under capello did win , but at what cost . If i didn't have never ending love for juve , i would have fallen asleep in every single game of the season .
I respect capello for having a very rare winning mentality , but his tactics are very old-fashioned and that kind of style would consistently get juve out of the champions league year after year .
