Have any of you seen teams that are great on the counter attack? They way they fly on up at full pace and score?

Nedved has the pace and ability to initiate some quick counters but as soon as the ball goes through del piero we're stuck with it on his feet as he takes ages to release the ball.

There's one simple rule to football: The ball travels faster than Del Piero can run.

Yea, he scores goals, he's an important part of our team, that's because he starts every bloody match and gets the ball everytime. I'm sure we could find a more useful player out there.

For DP's slow-yet-skilled style to function, he needs a suited partner for him, and I don't think Trez nor Iaquinta can provide that.
Let me correct you that he starts many of matches and gets the ball most of times.first,"getting balls most of times" is a very important ability (yes,ABILITY) of a footballer.you have to struggle for the ball to get it most of times and it requires lots of runnings.

Second, last season Trez (the times he wasn't injured) was a starter in Juve as well but he wasn't as important as Ale for us.

Ale had a very good match tonight and this is ridiculous that he's still being criticized.

As for your simple rule to football,
fastness would be a good advantage for a footballer but it isn't necessary.

thank you .. I knew I was good but not that good ...:smoke:

Yeah .. you were right .. If people in this forum believed something i came up with in 20 seconds , then no wonder the newspaper industries and internet football websites make so much money .

I Agree with you, DP was and would be very important for us, it his Style that give him the importance for the team.

Find a torrent of the game, and count the number of times he lost the ball, and pay attention to how bloody slow our attack is. There's a reason when nedved gets up on the wing with the ball he's only got 1 or 2 guys in the box to cross it to. The difference in teams like milan and barca is their ability to move quickly as a team, not losing attacking efficiency through needless touches

I'm just worried that we're heading for a repeat performance of what I think was 2004...where I was kicking myself everytime Ale got the ball because it was basically a turnover of possession.
Come on Seb,he was injured most of that awful season.all the team, particularly the defense, were fucked up at that time.

There is another scource too .

here this is from calciofootball.com

Sundeland net Alessandro Del piero !

Sunderland sign Del piero for a record low 500 dollars . Sunderland have finally gotten hold of the Azzuri striker after months of trying . Finally , Juventus have given up hope on their aging striker and have decided to let go .

Del piero , who has earned the juventus top scorer award , has now moved on to england where he will earn 12 million euros a year . Nearly three times the salary he is earning at juventus .

Sunderland Boss Roy keane had this to say, " Del piero , well he's a good lad , a little slow and chubby but he could do wonders for us right now . Sunderland is a good place to toughen him up and get him back to his earlier days . 500 dollars ? we were rather lucky to get him for that cheap but Juventus were nearly going to pay us to get rid of him ".

I know it's hard to believe but it's true . Think about it man , if del piero was staying why wouldn't he just say so ? He just kept quiet while negotiating the deal with sunderland hoping he would get it done as soon as possible without Del piero loving freaks like you go trying to stop him .

Don't be so naive man , Del piero just wants money and he's getting that from sunderland . Apparently a swedish billionaire who is a secret admirer for alex is willing to pay him 12 million euros per season to play for sunderland , an offer no one can refuse , not even Alex .

Sometimes we just have to face the facts . Life is tough boy , deal with it .

the 1st half was quite evenly matched... Juve had the better & more clear cut chances but failed to convert them... while Milan took one of the few chances they created...

in the 2nd half... Milan were on top in the early minutes & managed a 2nd goal... afterwhich they were content on sittin' back & slowin' the pace of the game...

i feel that the Juve midfield still lack some degree of tactical awareness & organisation... and since it is generally a newly assembled team... that is expected... creativity was there... but that certain cuttin'-edge delivery was still absent...

for me... Nocerino & Palladino showed their immaturity... but with more time & experience... they will slowly discard them... i feel Criscito is not physical enough for a spot in the center of defence... somethin' Chiellini is alot better at...

for me... the ideal Juve line-up should be this...

-------------------Buffon--------------------
-Zebina---Andrade---Chiellini---Criscito-
------Nocerino---Almiron---Tiago---------
------Del Piero--------------Nedved-------
-----------------Trezeguet------------------

Common man , seriously , do you think del piero is even worth 500 dollars ? Juve are practically trying to give him away .

It's official man , here's the article .

___________________________________________________________________

Juventus captain Alessandro Del piero has put an end to his illustrious carreer at juventus and is heading to the premier league to play for Roy keane's Sunderland . Alessandro del piero was treated badly by the juventus management and even asked them to leave .

This may come as a shock for most juventus fans but their beloved captain has left the old lady . The fee is said to be from 500 to 550 dollars and both club and both Del piero's and Sunderland's manager have agreed on personal terms .

Del piero will be sign a 3 year contract worth 12 million euros a year . Some believe that this was the reason Del piero has agreed to move on .
His replacement will be Rochi from Lazio who is on great form .

We need Camo in the midfield IMO.

I keep asking myself "what the fuck did I just watch?"

What I saw is a Juve without ideas on offense, who were more than happy to chase Milan around the pitch as they passed around us, and a team that obviously cannot perform simple passes

Our offense rarely tested Dida...bar Tiago's shot at the end of the game. Where were the shots on net ? Where was any accurate passing in Milan's side of the field ? Were our outside mid's wearing slippers, because they couldn't cross the ball for shit !! Its been 3 damn games since we scored a goal...we have problems !!

Defensively, we again made some mistakes in marking that led to goals. Is Criscito the real deal...I dont know. But Molinaro isn't, and Andrade hasn't proven anything yet.

The whole team disappointed me except for Grygera. He should be our starter at RB, IMO

I know the excuse train will ride again with Ranieri as the engineer, but the season starts in 8 days, and we are not ready...hell no !!! The excuses have to end here !!

Our objective is to reach a CL spot, but does anyone here actually believe that our team is better than Lazio or Fiorentina...because that's who will be fighting for the last CL spot

At this point, I believe that even Palermo is better than our team, and a 8th place to 10th place finish is realistic for us

I have zero faith in Ranieri, and even less with this management...and this preseason proves it

Agree on Molinaro and to a certain degree on Criscito (not ready yet, lots of potential).

However I strongly disagree on Andrade, he has played really well, never missing a tackle (unless he takes the player too :D) and doesn't make mistakes (good awarness too).

Grygera cannot pass!!! All the passes he tries go to the opposition and we are not talking about assists here, just short passes...he is also quite slow it seems. I have no doubt he is good but right now he is certainly not showing it.

i agree... but he is injured at the moment & hasn't played in awhile...

for me... he has to bid his time & start on the bench 1st... and when he has gained full match-fitness... he will than be integrated back into the 1st team... Ranieri has claimed Camoranesi is at about 10% of his fellow teammates...

there can be nothin' worst than rushin' him in competitive games... Marchionni is already facin' months out... there cannot be much worse than rushin' Camoranesi & seein' him follow Marchionni into the treatment room for an extended period out...

I fear that a repeat of 2004 -- Lippi's last season with us -- would be a step up from what we'll see this season. :scared:

Lol,indeed

According to the board and Ranieri, being qualified for the CL is more than enough for Juve this season, and well,we concluded in the 3rd place in 04-05 season
