Category: General

125 goals in 207 games in the black and white of Juventus, seventh in the Bianconeri’s all time goal scoring list, and number one among the foreign-born goal machines: the achievements of David Trezeguet, a.k.a. Trezegol, deserve special recognition, and the fans are ready to show their appreciation on Saturday when, before the clash with Vicenza, King David will be presented with a very unique award.

Just like Del Piero, crowned last year as top goal scorer in the history of Juventus, Trezegol will be awarded with a commemorative plate to celebrate his 125 strikes. It’s a prestigious mile stone but David won’t stop there, with the 131 goal record of Pietro Anastasi already in his sights.

Mauro Camoranesi and David Trezeguet may have remained at Juventus over the summer, but both have suggested an imminent exit is on the cards.

The pair were denied a transfer in the summer following the club’s demotion to Serie B, with Camoranesi particularly vocal in his demands to leave.

The Argentine-born midfielder has never accepted the idea of playing in the Second Division and was being courted by Lyon and Valencia, but was blocked by the Bianconeri outfit.

Now his agent has again reiterated that the former Verona winger wants out and is eyeing a New Year switch.

“Mauro’s future is no longer with Juventus, he will leave the club in January,” his representative Sergio Fortunato was quoted as saying on Friday.

Camoranesi’s relationship with the club seems to be worsening day after day, with reports suggesting that the now fully fit international will not play against Vicenza.

Yet the Bianconeri faithful have suffered another blow this morning after Trezeguet also expressed his desire to leave Turin at the end of the season.

The French international is contracted to Juve until 2008 and has confirmed that he has no intention of renewing that agreement.

“I was kept here because of a phone call,” he stated today. “Didier Deschamps told me that I was staying and I am here. But I’m not negotiating an extension.

“My teammates had a chance to choose, I had to adapt to the situation and decided not to fight with the club,” he added.

“My position is very delicate, but I will do my best to help Juve regain Serie A.

“Director general Jean Claude Blanc said that the club will need five years to return to its past levels, but by that time I will be 34…” concluded the French international.

Trezeguet will make his Serie B debut on Saturday in the home match against Vicenza, as he begins his seventh season with the Turin club.

he said something like hes staying to help the team back to serie A then leaving and thats enough for me.
quite reasonable. He ants to do the best this season so he can leave next season. He is getting old now and would probably like to play in EPL where he would become top scorer with his eyes closed
