Werder Bremen will do all they can to convince Juventus target Miroslav Klose to stay at the end of the season.
“There is little chance that Klose will leave Werder at the end of the current campaign,” said Coach Thomas Schaaf.
“The club is interested in renewing his contract and will try to convince him to do so,” added the tactician.
The Bianconeri are working hard in view of their likely return to Serie A and have targeted several players, including last season’s Bundesliga top scorer who is contracted to the German side until 2008.
The ace, who had stated in the past that he was ready to sacrifice Champions League football next term, was also this week sponsored by former Bianconeri midfielder Andy Moeller.
Meanwhile, Juve have also eyed Torsten Frings who could join the Turin outfit for £3.5m at the end of the season.
The German international, who has played 17 matches with Werder Bremen this season scoring one goal, is highly considered by the Bianconeri for his versatility in midfield and defence.
Juventus have already captured Zdenek Grygera from Ajax and Hasan Salihamidzic of Bayern Munich. Both will arrive on free transfers during the summer.
