Sky diving is so much fun! But not nearly as much fun as heliskiing, or base jumping.

Oh, and abseilen is rock climbing in English. And that is only fun when you have a big enough rock face, no less than 75 feet vert.

I don't really like the beach, you get all sandy, and I don't really swin real well, and I don't do boats, cause I get extremely sea sick. So the only good part about the beach is surfing, but you can't really do that everywhere.

Oh yeah, and the scenery

I just meant that skiing is for the alps, not the Pyrennes. The Pyrennes are the home of snowboarding in Europe.

Snowboarding is really big in Norway right now, doesn't take much to get everyone on the bandwagon, esp in smaller places. But if you check out bigger resorts, notably Åre in Sweden, most people are still skiing.

That must be horrible for them. Skiing is so boring, it's like driving a crane, whereas snowboarding is like driving a fine sportscar.

I've been skiing for 13 years and I like it a lot. And I still have stuff to learn so it's not all the same.

Snowboarding I think is less interesting cause you're going slower and I prefer the forward motion to the sideways one.

I should really look all these 'sports' up some time...can't get a clear picture in my head...

Anyway - the rock that suffered my presence was about 100 meters high... I say about 'cause I'm not exactly sure but it can't have been much lower!

The scenerey doesn't get any better anywhere else!

As for swimming - it's my life! As is sailing and I love to sail in stormy weather when the waves sweep across the deck!!

Well, it's more literally repelling, but I've heard it used to mean rock climbing too. But, then again, I don't speak Dutch, so I could simply be confused.

It's German

What I'm talking about is that you go up a mountain or hill via the not-so-steep side and then you go down off the vertical side of the mountain. That last part is called abseilen!

I wasn't speaking in terms of competition as you have a distinction between downhill skiing and slalom. Just "regular" skiing, I guess that's a mixture of them. Same goes for snowboard, I just tried it to see what it was like and I didn't like it as much.

But in general I think you would agree that skiing is faster than snowboarding? You never see anyone going as fast on a snowboard because it doesn't have nearly the same acceleration.
