A good world cup... are you joking, he was awful... I dont think you will find many england fans that will agree with that statement!
ps. did you see him yesterday against liverpool??
Worst player on the pitch by a long shot!!

Anyway ian.... I respect your oppinion and am glad you see something in him!
I agree completely! The penalty, the silly yellow card and numerous other mistakes! Incredible...

Well, I'm not joking about the world cup, as he was one of the best central backs appearing at the tournament, and I don't care what England fans think. They twist everything around.

As fo the game against Liverpool, I've not watched it yet, but from what I've read, Campbell didn't play horribly.

I wonder, what number on a list of best to worst would you rank Campbell.

CNN then?
Funny, funny, I suppose I shall have to go now an watch for myself and then we shall see. But even so, one game can not indicate an entire career nor can it be completely indicative of recent performances.

you're right with that point, but he was terrible against Liverpool. I watched the whole match and he made numerous mistakes and slip-ups. As for the world cup, from what I saw he was poor also. In fact, I have not seen a game ever to convince me he has any significant amount of talent, and I think the England side would be better off without him

Sol Campbell, a world class donkey.;):D.
To be honest, I think he had a decent world cup. My friend who follows Premeirship tells me that he is pretty good one on one situation. Also, not too bad in the either. He did tell me though, Sol's positioning was somewhat dodgy, and his passing game was terrible, well latter wasn't very hard to see in the world cup.
;).
In all honesty, I haven't seen enough of him to make comment but from what I have heard, and little things that I have seen he doesn't seem to a world class defender. Pretty good role player, perhaps.

The england side is simple... the central def partnership should be rio and woodgate who play very well togeather.....
Plus woodgate has more talent in his left earlobe than sol could ever dream of having

I agree! One game cannot indicate a whole career. I've seen three matches of him (one on the WC and two in the Premier League) where he was simply terrible. I've seen him a couple of other times where he didn't impress me AT ALL.
Three gruesome mistakes per match is a minimum for this guy it seems...

Then why is he such a valued defender, being a lock to start in the NT.
Every NT has players that continually start that dont deserve to be there.... Hes jus part of the team now.
Like seaman who continually starts yet we all know we have far better keepers.

seaman, heskey, campbell...god only knows why

then for Italy we have panucci, and all those defensive mids

its the same for everyone..like ronaldinho for instance..starting ahead of denilson? why?

I think they are same players, just showman. The difference is the latter is more interesting to watch.;)

I know this was to paul, but here are some:

Robinson
Kirkland
Martyn
James, even!
Wright, even!
and of course if we can get cudicini that would be tops!
