I was merely mentioning it to Mr J. Fanatic, as he hadn't watched the game and seemed to be talking up Tiago as being a major reason for the win.

Tiago has proven he can play for big clubs before, perhaps not lighting up the pitch with phenomenal displays, but surely solid displays. He can get the job done and maintain possession, something this team desperately needs. He can also read the game rather well, having sound positioning. Sissoko needs a player next to him that has the ability to maintain possession and add a little finesse to the side, and I have always believed Tiago can do that. He needs to play.

Good to see him sticking it to people who slagged him off, not knowing anything about the player.

Indeed.

He can offer that bit of composure the midfield is lacking when Zanetti is out. Marchisio can get there, but he hasn't learned to control the tempo of a game yet.

Tiago has also finally adapted to the 4-4-2. He is much more aggressive and willing to track back than he was in his first season.

yeh but he still seems so lazy in his movements. it like he only has 2 speed...slow & stop :D

it amazing how he just drifts about without seeing to be making much effort....kinda like berba but slower

I can admit that I judged him harshly before(although his performances did warrant critisisme). It's better to have him in the team than out of it nowadays.

Of course. You can't be stubborn and in denial when the player proves you wrong. We have been seeing his fanboys defending him whole last season though despite his countless bad performances.

But I think it's an urban myth that Tiago had bad performances in his first two starts. In December and January though, yes, he was quite poor.

Tiago was a starter in the game last night against Finland. He made a good game.I hope he will maintain good form
yupp, I watched like 10 min summary of the game on eurosport and I think he made a very positive impression. I wish him all good and if only he can score a single goal or make a nice assist, he will be again on the right direction:bigscarf:
