I cant wait for tiago to get back. Our midfield looked so much better with him around and I believe this year he can overtake zanetti for the starting spot.

Poulsen is going to be benched...5 guys for the CMF is one too many IMO...it's up to the mgmt. to see who we should be looking to get rid of

we may just keep them all...zanetti ain't gettin any younger and with his injury record wud be a good idea to have adequate replacements.

+ tiago gonna take his spot soon anyways. :)

regardin our cm partnership..its really difficult to choose a partner for sissoko..
when all was injured..tiago did an excelletn job partnering sissoko because tiago covered sissoko's flaws(passes,control,dribbling)...marchiso is a rock in the middle..he is a young c.zanetti...while c.zanetti is so calm..he does everything so easy..i takes the ball passes the ball and you dont even feel he broke a sweat..pure class...and for me poulsen sucks..he should be a backup to the backup..my personal vote goes for sissoko and tiago...but at the end..we really have strong 4 cm's..(tiago,sissoko,marchiso and zanetti)...

Yeah because tiago did such a bad job when he had his chances this season right? The "anti tiago fan boys" will never shut up
So, doing a solid job on 5 matches in Zanetti's absence justifies his takeover from Zanetti who has been brilliant (read: much better than Tiago) for 2 straight seasons for us??

did anyone say he weill win the starting spot now?! he can in time tho.

the reason zanetti can play so calm is that he does not have the elevated expectations of a high price tag nor we he signed as a high profile summer transfer.

now that all of that elevated expectation has been lifted from tiago, i tink will see the tru player that he is & he will rise up the ranks.

actually we have a real luxury problem in midfield. there are no questions about sissoko, he's a starter for sure. but aside him you can choose out of zanetti, marchisio, tiago and poulsen. all of them could be starters in a lot of top-teams.

a lot of people don't rate poulsen highly, taking only juve matches into consideration i can understand it. but i followed him in his 4 seasons in germany and the european competitions. i really don't like schalke but i have to admit he was one hell of a defensive midfielder.

guys, zanetti is the shit! have you seen his latest performance? that was after an injury break of about 4 months. incredible stuff.

marchisio is a real prospect and should get as much minutes as possible to develop the best possible way.

tiago is different to every other midfielder in juve. he's not a real dm. i'd like to see him in some home game in a 3-man midfield with sissoko and marchisio behind giovinco-del piero-amauri.

as you see we have 4 potential starters next to sissoko and each of them has his specialities.

I said that tiago can overtake him this season not necessarily straight away. If tiago didnt get injured, Im sure he would have been deep inside our starting lineup. Tiago and zanetti have very similar characteristics. Both of them dictate our play and open people up. Tiago however is younger and seeing how he performed before his injury I don't see why he cant get playing time, or even actual starts.

Yup.

With folk returning from injury, we are close to having genuine options in central midfield.

nice evaluation of our players, but what about flexing a bit of our offensive muscle & try a zanetti-tiago midfield to see if that would work and allow us to take the game to our opponents even more! or would ppl think it would leave our defence too exposed even against greatly inferior teams?

Sissoko powers forward more than any of our CM's,he should always start if fit.

13 Manninger

19 Marchisio - 4 Mellberg - 33 Legrottaglie - 28 Molinaro

32 Marchionni - 22 Sissoko - 6 Zanetti - 11 Nedved

8 Amauri - 10 Del Piero (C)

After all, Marchisio has you-know-who's ex-number :eyebrows:
