I dont buy the arguement that our management undermined his confidence. He isn't 20 years old. He has previously played at 2 different clubs who played at a high level and should be able to channel criticism more effectively than locking team presidents in the bathroom. Believe it or not, some players actually strive to improve when criticized. Shutting yourself down and half assing your way through games just to spite your manager is wrong any way u look at it.
Bottom line, he was given his chances and he didn't impress. No personality to his game, which for some1 who needed to make a point, was all he had to show. Even Ekdal, an inexperienced 19 year old who made his 1st journey abroad, imposed himself more in matches. Even Sissoko, who's arrival wasn't greeted with the warmest of welcome by fans and media, and who arrived mid way through the season (less time to settle in), fought to prove his worth.
