Tiago Deal Falls Through

Sky Sports News claims that Tiago and Tottenham Hotspur were unable to reach an accord, and that the deal taking the Portuguese midfielder from Juventus to England has collapsed at the last minute...

Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur had long since agreed a transfer fee for troubled midfielder Tiago, but the player's new wage demands with Spurs were said to be the sticking point in negotiations.

That certainly seems to be the case now, as Sky Sports have announced that Tiago will not be making the move to White Hart Lane after negotiations between the player and the London side broke down.

However, the Portuguese international may still be able to leave Turin before the end of the transfer window.

Bolton Wanderers and big-spending Manchester City are monitoring the situation, with the Citizens said to be considering an approach for the ex-Lyon man.

Tiago, 27, only arrived at the Old Lady in June, but has failed to establish himself as a regular under Claudio Ranieri. Previously, he served Braga, Benfica, Chelsea and Lyon.

If the board wants him out, they should try to exchange him for VdV, if we give in some cash, HSV might be willing to do the deal in January, or else, it could be a nice option to try during the summer.
Not that I would want to see him leave, but still.

I don't see a problem in keeping Tiago at least till the end of the season. Now, after Almiron went away we only got Nocerino and Zanetti in the center, so Tiago probably would have a bigger chance to take over a starting place, considering Nocerino's average performances lately and Marchionni's injury. This way we could keep the ~10m € for Sissoko to buy a goddamn good CB like Zapata. I still hope Tiago stays. If not,we'd have a very creative midfield with the likes of Nocerino, who can't pass and Sissoko, who can't pass either. Well,at least Zanetti got some passing abilities...

How are players getting their wages ? Only during the season or they're getting payed for all 52 weeks in the year ?

Because if it's for all 52 weeks and if Tottenham offered him 35 000 British pounds per week then his yearly wages will be 1.8m pounds which is the same as 2.4 million EURO and that's almost the same he's getting with us (he's gettimg 2.5m eur with us)
Why did he reject this deal ?

€dit:Why are all against Sissoko?Only because he didn't want to come in summer?
No! First he said something that he should never said "L'pool is BIGer club than Juve" and now he is SUCKING up to Juve fans saying "I love Juve, couse ZiZou" and "I supported Juve when i was just a kid"-dude shut the :faq1: UP...And last but not least, we don't need him, period. He can't bring nothing to the table, its a waste of time and MONEY...
