Schuster Toys With Gago-Tiago Swap Idea?

Fernando Gago to Juventus and Tiago to Real Madrid - a loan swap could be on the cards...

Fernando Gago may be on the way out of Real Madrid in the long-term, starting with a loan switch.

Sport.es suggested this week that coach Bernd Schuster was fast losing patience with the young Argentine, who has yet to truly shine since arriving from Boca Juniors last January.

In the meantime, another defensive midfielder - Tiago - is toiling away at Juventus to little effect.

There's no talk of a mutual loan swap, with the Portuguese international moving to Madrid in order to steel the squad for the second half of the season.

While Tiago has largely underperformed since arriving in Turin from Lyon in the summer, he has European pedigree and would thus suit a Champions League challenge from the Madrid side.

For Gago, any move would give him a chance to reignite what is increasingly looking like a stalled career.

But for now, it remains paper talk.

Gago is more of a DM, isnt he ??
Yes he is more a dm.

But what a poor form showed Tiago in the game against Empoli. i will give him a month to prove himself at Juve. If he don't play better this month than we can sot him on the bench and at the transferlist. It looks like Italianan soccer is too fast for Tiago.

I would like to hear the opinions of different players on how Tiago has performed in practice since the start of the season, just to see if good old Ranieri was speaking the truth about him. Tiago wasn't bad against Empoli and Reggina, but now the player has just gotten worse. I blame that on Ranieri for beating him down like a dog, but Ranieri is an idiot anyway.
you should really get your own mind straight. you were one of the few being quite happy with the arrival of that idiot at juve.

tiago himself has admitted that it all wasn't good enough in the beginning, that he had real problems adapting to the league, so it's not like CR screwed him over ever since his arrival. tiago hasn't shown his true colours in italy yet, it's simple as that (and i'm being very polite on him here). surely CR got frustrated with what was supposed to be the main inforcement for this season and obviously he made it clear that tiago wasn't the type of player he was aiming for, but up late he has spoken in defence of tiago on a regular basis, saying that he was finally adapting to the italian style of football, that tiago was now doing difficult things easily in training and also that he would regularly give him a chance now (which he did since) but still tiago doesn't deliver one bit, i simply see no contribution to the team. CR didn't sub him twice at halftime because he hates him, but simply because tiago's performances are not good enough.

for sure, it's not a love story between the two of them but if we get rid of one of them then it would definitely be tiago. if i see him play now i have the impression that we bought some supposed talent from some youth team in a forgotten country. he played in portugal, england and france ffs, he's supposed to have some football experience.

ranieri defended him and gave him chances....now he tries the other way...maybe now he will try to prove CR wrong...like someone already said above me....
but ranieri should now give almiron some backup also...like he did with tiago...almiron is a good player and technicaly well...

tiago doesnt want to play here i think...he doesnt show passion and he doesnt deserve to play here....we made a mistake by buying we should accept it and let him to shine somewhere else....he had his chances...sometimes its better to move on...

Poor Tiago, he doesn't deserve all this. Give the guy some breathing space.
He can have all the breathing space he wants on the bench. Ranieri needs to stop giving this guy chances because it always ends up with us having to suffer for the 1st have and then having to waste a sub on him because he did nothing for us.

Honestly tahir, if he didn’t perform so horribly and play so cluelessly then I wouldn’t be so critical. But he has never given me a reason to have a positive outlook on him, for some reason or another he just doesn’t fit here and that is a direct reflection of his play.

I agree there. Ranieri's been very poor towards Tiago.
Ya so the best way tiago can respond to ranieri is by sucking balls everytime he is given the opportunity to step on the field? Gimme a break, he is a pro not a minor league ho-bag looking for a hand out. In that situation tiago should play his ass off to raise his own stock and get noticed by other teams, not by playing like a fucking mook and giving your team/organization very little to compliment you about.

what? of course yes
well at least you're optimistic.......
"blind faith" is a more suitable word

I think for me the most alarming factor in this Tiago situation is that its been half a season and he still didn't adapt well to the league. Something that was evident last weekend. I know he had an off day as his work rate was not up to standard, but he got caught out many times in the midfield.

I wouldn't sell him, i still think he has a lot to offer to the team. He was brought because he brings something different to the midfield and we will need that in the future.
Well he's barely played mate...you cant adapt if you dont get playing time
Come on... Tiago won several balls against Empoli and stole the ball in Rome against Lazio midfielders twice on their side of the 50, one time sending Trezeguet in alone on goal but for some reason he missed. That would have been four assists.

But I'm through with this. If people can state that Tiago lacks the basic skills of the game and has been consistently very bad yet only making three starts in 18 matches, I can't do anything to change people's minds. They've made up their minds a long time ago about the player and want him out. Lets strike a deal and get rid of both Tiago and Ranieri.
thats only because they havent seen him play...and they're just taking Ranieris word for it.

I have seen him play and that’s why I can say that from what I have seen he has not impressed. Honestly if you think he has played so wonderful lately then please let me know, I must be overreacting.

I couldn’t care less what ranieri thinks or says regarding any matter. I don’t like him any better than I do tiago, but what I do know is that tiago has shown nothing below average R.O.I

I wrote this in some other thread before, but I feel it belongs here.

I know he wasn't bought to conduce the ball or to have possesion.

he was bought to distribute the ball, but by GOD, he never took a step in possesion of the ball ( I AM NOT JOKING) if you watch a rerun of the game you can actually notice that he NEVER ran with it.

but that is not all without the ball, he never ran either, he reminded me of a spanish player, a player that if you don't know where he is, you just look for someone WALKING around the pitch doing NOTHING!

he reminds me of GUTI!!! GOT DAMNED!!!:wth:

well i would say its pretty hard to play well when your manager disses you in public, and doesnt play you..when i said people havent seen him play..i didnt mean his games with juve...i meant for Chelsea, Lyon or the Portugese NT..because thats where you'll see what he is capable of.
