I used to rate Tiago highly... but now I see the chances of him leaving larger than staying... and sonehow I think it is for the best interest of all parties involved.
why r u saying this??

Actually this Siena match made me feel that he is here to stay, when he was leaving the pitch, all the fans in the stadium applauded him warmthly & he seemed happy about himself & he went out with a smile on his face.
I think he wont leave in January.

Next year we will have Giovinco and Marchisio, I would like to think we will sign one of Diego or VDV not to mention Camoranesi, Zanetti, Marco, Sali and Nocerino... how do you think Tiago will make to the 1st team then?

___Marchisio/Nocerino____Zanetti

___Camo/Marco_____VDV/Giovinco

I would drop none of the mentioned player for Tiago.

I think we might sacrifice Marchionni in the summer, because of Camoranesi, Giovinco, Palladino and Salihamidzic. Not to mention if transfer speculation of players like VDV comes to fruition, or even with Tiago continuing in his current offensive midfielder role. Even Iaquinta could cover ther right wing. No space for 'Marco' I'm afraid.

I agree.Marco is likely to be sold. It's too bad, but his frequent injuries are holding him back too much to be a useful player for us.

I dont want to sound based but trust me if Tiago found his game & was given the complete chance,he can beat anyone of the players mentioned above in CM (Zanetti,Nocerino or Marchisio) for a starting place.

If Tiago is going to play next year it either at the expense of Zanetti or Marchisio and that's not easy considering how good Zanetti is performing and how promising Marchisio is looking.

Cobolli Gigli's Juve ambition
Saturday 5 January, 2008

Juventus President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli believes Juventus can target second place this season and buy two big name stars for the Champions League.

“In the summer I had said our aim was to finish in the top four, but with a bit more ambition I’d say we can now go for second place,” the patron told the 'Gazzetta dello Sport.’

“Inter have an eight-point advantage over us and with regret I must admit they are playing well, too. We are almost at the halfway stage and considering our position I can say we’re looking at a top two placement.”

The Bianconeri were expected to struggle after their Calciopoli-imposed year in Serie B, but instead are making plans for an immediate assault on Europe’s top prize.

“Claudio Ranieri is satisfied with the current squad and we will add a few more elements to face the Champions League.

“There are set to be returns of players on loan, like Claudio Marchisio, Sebastian Giovinco and Paolo De Ceglie, plus we will sign two star names – real world class players – in attack and central defence.”

It is rumoured the forward on their wish list is Palermo’s Brazilian hitman Amauri, but German newspapers suggest the main target does not fit either role.

This week it was reported that Rafael Van Der Vaart has agreed an £11m deal to join Juve in the summer from Hamburg.

“We have not made an offer for Amauri, although it is true our observers are looking at him. Van Der Vaart is among many players we like, but for the moment we are basing our policy on free transfers, just as we did with Hasan Salihamidzic. We promised our shareholders a self-sustainable club.”

Some of their other signings have not been so successful, but Cobolli Gigli trusts they have time to change that view.

“This year we will have a midfielder with great vision who can launch out strikers – his name is Tiago Mendes. In my mind he is the man of 2008 and it will be Juve’s year.”

From Daily Mail:

Spurs and West Ham are locked in a fight to bring Tiago Mendes back to the Premier League.

The Portugal midfielder spent a season at Chelsea but things have not worked out for the 26-year-old after moving to Juventus from Lyon for £9.5million this season.

Clubs queue for Juve outcasts
Tuesday 8 January, 2008
Press reports suggest that Juventus have rejected a £9m bid from Tottenham for Tiago Mendes as Sergio Almiron is between Olympiacos and Torino.

Portuguese midfielder Tiago hasn’t managed to settle in Turin and has received harsh criticism from sections of the Bianconeri faithful.

Having been linked with a number of European sides over the last two months, he poured cold water on speculation that he could call an early end to his time in Italy and stressed that he wants to earn a place at Juve.

However, certain Press sources insist that Tottenham are still keen to lure the former Chelsea man to the Premier League and have offered around £10m.

As the Old Lady allegedly line up a £10m deal for Liverpool’s Mali-born midfield ace Mohamed Sissoko, the future for Tiago looks less than bright and he could still be persuaded to find a fresh challenge.

Meanwhile, another summer flop Sergio Almiron could be headed for the exit door.

The Argentine star arrived from Empoli in the summer, but like Tiago has failed to make his mark.

Recent reports state that Juve refused to loan the frustrated midfielder to Inter, prompting the Nerazzurri to turn to Maniche.

Greek outfit Olympiacos are said to be amongst Almiron’s new suitors and have £5m ready for a summer swoop, but Torino are believed to be ready to offer an option closer to home.

wow, so Ranieri does count on him,. even if we get another CM
