Why not? he is 29, he has flopped and everyone knows we want rid of him. £5.5m is a fair price
He was quality at Chelsea, Lyon, now Madrid, and has been, for many moons, a regular member of one of the more decent international teams. 5.5m is a joke...and unless we are using him as a bargaining chip for a Madrid player, it makes no sense.

lol for many moons. Tiago is not a good player regardless of where he played. Why could we not get anyone else to pay 10 million to buy him off us? For a good starting mid 10 million is not much considering players like Pepe go for 12 ... it means Tiago is not that good. Ok so he is having a good WC but we have seen him play and what does he do that is special? If Portugal had Sissoko or Marchisio they would take Tiago's spot.

Plus he plays in a portugal team with really goo players around him that make him look a bit better. he was just unlucky at Juve there are not really good players haha. Seriously though, same thing happend at Chelsea. He can't be relied on to control a midfield. .. maybe against North Korea he can.

As much as I praise Tiago's performance against N Korea in this WC, he's generally been pretty weak and useless for the Portugal NT. Not like Juve "Let me defend by helping you kick it in my net" useless. But useless nonetheless.

I have zero respect for mourinho as a man, but as a manager, its impossible to blind yourself to his talent. Mourinho used tiago as an integral part of his midfield, when he won the Premiership. I saw much of Tiago in that season, and he was consistently quality. So...next to Lyon...where he did very well, and won the league. Then to us, where he never quite fit, but was far from the only signing we made, who looked a shadow of their former selves at other clubs...Amauri, Poulsen...This last season especially. Our midfield was AWFUL, apart from fopr two matches. Tiago, when he played looked no worse than melo, diego, marchisio...yes the golden boy...Momo..Poulsen...So then he moves to Madrid, takes some time to get his foot in the door of the first team, starts to enjoy his football again, feels happy, shows once again why he has won silverware in Portugal, England, France.

We are the ones losing out on Tiago. And I think its much more to do with the same steady decline of our coaching and fitness standards, which fucked him up in Italy. I mean...look at the literally stunning difference of output of Diego at Juve, and at Bremen. Of course, the leagues are very different, but still, I expected more of him, than I saw this last season. Same for Melo really...he was shocking for us all season. MArchisio was great in brief flashes, nothing more. Momo worse than I have ever seen him...and yet people have the ignorance to avoid all this, and assume rather than Something has been VERY WRONG AT JUVE, leading to our worst season for 50000 years, more likely that Tiago is simply an awful player, who somehow, managed to look good in three other europeans leagues, and even fooled the great Mourinho, argubly the most talented coch in the game...

I am not saying, at all, that he should stay. I mean...he doesn't want to, for a start, and secondly he has not managed to adjust to italian football, OR, to the steadily worsening crisis at Juventus. My point was, and remains, that its a lack of football knowledge, to say he is simply a flop, everywhere he has been. Because history proves otherwise.

Its the same as people here heralding Marchisio as the new messiah, or talking of DP as if he remains one of the finest, most potent strikers in the game...seeing things through juve tinted glasses.

We saw Tiago play in a position he was not accumsted to, a formation which has rarely brought out his best elsewhere, and he is lambasted...we see the same of MArchisio, yet we blame the coach...Indeed.

Just look back for the memory in 2007 (10 first page).

When most of us are exciting with Tiago and Almiron transfer :jvefan:

and after that :

We are all excited too with Diego and Felipe Melo transfer :jvefan:

And the condition is not going better , in fact it getting worst. With last season as one of the worst season in history for Juve.

Tiago's never been a great player, and never will be...we made the mistake of thinking he could run our MF, when all his life he has just been another link in the chain...fuck him, and fuck him hard.
