Nobody talking about this man because because Allegri didn't play him during the spring but I wonder if we could count him as a new signing for next season. Especially with a full pre season as well. He was after all one of the best defenders in Ligue 1 before his injury
And he has pace unmatched by any of our other CBs. He allows us to play with a very high backline

We’ll need to find out if he’s worth keeping by the end of this season, as he’ll then be entering the final year of his contract I believe as he only signed a 2.5 year deal?

Bad, but it's first game of a pre season, Motta should decide.
We should calm on Djalo.
This is just our first friendly match. Djalo almost not play last season apart from several minites in our last match against Monza.

And for a player that we bought relatively low cost, he still have a high upside.
I try to compare his season (2021/2022) before injury and Yoro (2023/2024), both in Lille. Djalo has some traits that is better than Yoro which Man Utd bought for €60m. For Tackle, Clearances, Blocks, Progressive Passes, Progressive Carries he is better. Yoro is better in terms of Interceptions, Passing Accuracy (2% gap), Aerial Duel Win. He still relatively young and have upside that can make him a great player for us

If he turns into a useful rotational player he's well worth the money, but because he's an unknown quantity and media guessing rumours there are doubts. Whether he gets a run with Motta or a loan, by the end of this season we'll know if he is going to be decent or not.

So what's the latest with Djalo? Is he rumoured to go out on loan?
Seems so. Hasnt been called up for friendly against Brest. Loan probably to let him back to his best but actually prefer him to stay because we will be very thin in CB department. Or I woud prefer to sell Gatti if the previous rumour about interest from PL club is true. Would generate more money for transfer fund

oh boy i can't wait till xperd, daniel and the guintoli throaters try to tell us how we are wrong for questioning why 5m fee + wages was wasted on a expiring player contract that the club now can't get rid of and has to send on loan instead.
