if frings joins, it will be for a central midfield position. he has the ability to defend but offers offensive skills also. I think with another CM, most likely Almiron, he'll do well.

Under DD, i think the wingers need to be more creative than Frings is. If Camo leaves and Marchionni doesnt get his chance to step up, then the club will have to look at signing that dynamic right winger...and left winger as well.

It must be said that signing Frings and Diego as the DM and AM would be the better option though.
that's a dream

Juventus powerbrokers travel to Bremen for Frings deal

A Juventus delegation will be in Germany this week to close an agreement with Werder Bremen for midfielder Thorsten Frings.

Juve directors Alessio Secco and Roberto Bettega, along with general secretary Francesco Gianello, will travel to Bremen to finalise terms over a fee for the Germany international, who has already settled on a contract with the Serie B club.

Werder are demanding £7 million for Frings, while Juve's opening offer has been for £4.5 million. The Bianconeri are prepared to add Robert Kovac to their cash bid.

Frings is a good player, the only down side is his age.

If we can get him for about 7m euro and Kovac I would view that as a decent bit of business.

isn't 7 million euros + Kovac a bit too much for a 31 year old player?!
adding Kovac means we have to look for extra defender, because of the shortage we have in that department!!!

This is pretty humourous. Just a couple of weeks ago, Frings totally snubbed Juventus, but now he seems flattered and tempted by their interest? Yeah, whatever dude, dream on. There are younger and better options out there for a similar price.

It's funny to see the different perspectives. In Werder forums they say even 10millions are not enough.
Well of course they say that... in the Bundesliga Frings is one of the better players. But in Serie A, where the competition on the whole is better, it could really be a different story.

Frings would be our best defensive mid. 4-5m € + Kovac would be fair.

Now we need a top class mid that can dribble and score some goals.

Exactly.

With the presence of Frings and Zanetti as a backup or vice versa plus the presence of a more creative centre midfielder, I can be a little bit assured.

Unfortunately, our transfer options has been decreasing day after day like: Lampard, Ribery,....we have to capture a signature of a world-class midfielder as soon as we can.
