«La Juve mi vuole a ogni costo e non come un giocatore qualsiasi, ma come il giocatore per il centrocampo». Esce allo scoperto Torsten Frings, 30 anni, centrocampista del Werder Brema, confessando alla Bild Zeitung gli intrecci di mercato che lo coinvolgono. Se davvero il club bianconero sta impegnandosi al massimo per fare di Frings uno dei pilastri della squadra che verrà, allora significa che la Juve sta virando bruscamente sulla generazione dei giocatori maturi, esperti, pronti all’uso. Forse anche un po’ usati visto che un altro acquisto già sicuro è il trentenne Salihamidzic del Bayern. Ma la prossima Juve deve puntare al sodo: niente svolazzi, gente pronta a dare tutto e subito. Difficile ottenere dai giovani lo stesso rendimento.
Nessuno dei due tedeschi fa parte di quel tipo di giocatore che accende la fantasia, che fa dimenticare l’appuntamento con la fidanzata per correre all’Olimpico. L’amore si mette da parte per Ronaldinho, il pranzo si salta per Kakà. Ma la Juve non può prendere, almeno per ora, giocatori di questo livello, e allora avanti con Frings che in Germania è molto quotato e sa giocare in qualsiasi posizione del centrocampo. Alla Juve stanno stringendo i tempi. «Speriamo di riuscire a prenderlo» ammette Secco. I dirigenti bianconeri che hanno visto e rivisto all’opera il medianone di Wurselen e non possono più negare l’interessamento. Frings ammette di essere tentato: «Ci sto riflettendo seriamente» ha detto sempre a quelli della Bild. Klaus Allofs, ds del club tedesco dice: «Sono sorpreso dal modo esplicito con cui Frings ha parlato. Secondo me, chi firma un contratto deve rispettarlo. Ma se Torsten non vuole rimanere con noi, non lo porterò all’allenamento in catene».
Un’apertura. La volontà del giocatore conta moltissimo. La «alte Dame» del calcio italiano, attira sempre aldilà delle discese ardite e delle risalite che ha compiuto e dovrà compiere. fair enough i didn't watch many games of bayern that season and i just looked up the stats. But more recently i've watched many games.
abt the German NT, hes still playing well and the best example is the recent game against the Czech away from home where he kept Rosicky silent for almost 90mins.So its not only the WC where played very well on the international stage.
His talents were showcased on the CL not only in germany as he was one of the best players for a Bremen side that proved itself as a big pain in the ass for many bigger oppositions.So again its not only on his home soil as you said.
Hes hardworking with some good technical skills that could provide him some edge in serie A, with a good mentality thats team oriented.
Am not saying that he will be our best buy as i can't say that, he has some appropriate skills that will help that but he may not adapt like every player out there.

BREMEN Die Katze ist aus dem Sack: Torsten Frings hat gestern erstmals Kontakte zu Italiens Rekordmeister Juventus Turin bestätigt. "Juve will mich mit aller Macht", sagte der Bremer Mittelfeldspieler, der trotz eines bis 2009 laufenden Vertrages bei Werder über einen Wechsel nachdenkt. Seine Überlegungen erläutert der 30 Jahre alte Nationalspieler im Interview.
Noch vor zwei Jahren haben Sie bei Werder Bremen bis 2009 unterschrieben. Wieso wollen Sie jetzt auf einmal ins Ausland?
"Ich sage nicht, dass ich unbedingt wechseln will. Aber als Fußballer hat man irgendwie immer das Ausland als Ziel vor Augen. Ich habe bei jedem Top-Verein in Deutschland (Werder, Dortmund, Bayern, d. Red.) gespielt und bislang eine sehr gute Karriere hinter mir - da würde eine Auslandsstation die Sache richtig abrunden. Es ist eine besondere Motivation, sich in einem anderen Land zu beweisen."
Aber als Sie 2005 nach Bremen zurückgekehrt sind, hatten Sie sogar im Sinn, Ihre Laufbahn bei Werder zu beenden.
"Das stimmt, das habe ich gesagt. Und ich kann es mir auch heute noch vorstellen. Werder ist mein Traumverein. Trotzdem werde ich mir jetzt alle Angebote anhören. Dann werde ich mich mit meiner Familie, meinen Freunden und vielleicht auch mit Thomas Schaaf besprechen. Soviel ist dabei klar: Das wird die schwerste Entscheidung meines Lebens, die trifft man nicht mal eben innerhalb einer Minute."
Welche Rolle spielt Juventus Turin bei dieser Entscheidungsfindung?
"Juve ist der Verein, der sich am meisten um mich bemüht. Die wollen mich mit aller Macht. Und zwar nicht nur als irgendeinen, sondern als den Mittelfeldspieler in ihrem Team."
Das lockt natürlich. Und wie steht es mit dem Finanziellen?
"Das Gesamtpaket stimmt - da muss ich mir einfach Gedanken machen."
Juventus spielt derzeit noch in der zweiten italienischen Liga und damit definitiv in der kommenden Saison nicht in der Champions League. Schreckt Sie das nicht ab?
"Juve ist ein Top-Club, die kommen garantiert zurück."
Gibt es neben Turin weitere Interessenten?
"Es sind auch englische Vereine dabei. Aber es muss schon ein absoluter Kracher-Club sein. Alles andere ist für mich nicht interessant. Ich würde zum Beispiel nicht zu den Tottenham Hotspurs gehen."
Egal wohin, in Bremen würden Ihnen einige Leute einen Wechsel sicher übel nehmen.
"Die Fans vielleicht, weil sie mit dem Herzen entscheiden. Aber für mich ist es eine Sache des Kopfes. Ich denke, dass ich das Recht habe, mir Gedanken zu machen. Es ist meine Privatangelegenheit. Ich habe da auch kein schlechtes Gewissen - niemandem gegenüber."
Auch nicht gegenüber Werder?
"Nein, wieso? Wenn ich gehen sollte, würde Werder viel Geld für mich bekommen. Sportdirektor Klaus Allofs ist doch selbst Fußballer, der weiß, wie das Geschäft läuft. Ich hoffe, dass der Verein mir keine Steine in den Weg legen würde."
Was ist mit der Mannschaft? Ihre Abwanderungsgedanken sorgen im Saisonendspurt nicht gerade für Ruhe.
"Das ist doch Quatsch. Oder glauben Sie wirklich, dass sich ein Tim Borowski oder Per Mertesacker nervös machen lassen, bloß weil unklar ist, ob ich bleibe oder nicht? Außerdem: Über andere Spieler wird schon seit einem Jahr spekuliert (gemeint ist sehr wahrscheinlich Miroslav Klose, d. Red.) - da habe ich ja wohl auch das Recht auf ein paar Wochen."
Sie selbst lassen sich nicht ablenken?
"Die Angebote hindern mich bestimmt nicht daran, mit Werder Bremen den Titel zu holen. Und den holen wir, davon bin ich überzeugt."
Sie gehen mit dem ganzen Thema sehr offensiv um, was eher branchenunüblich ist. Warum?
"Ich will einfach ehrlich sein. Bei meinem Wechsel vor fünf Jahren von Werder zu Borussia Dortmund bin ich in der Presse nicht gut weggekommen, weil ich damals bei der WM in Japan war und nichts zu dem Ganzen sagen konnte. Das passiert mir nicht noch mal."

They try to get him with all power and want him to be a key-player in their team. He likes the offer Juve made and calls them a top-club which will return to the top of europe.
He admits that there also English clubs interested in him, but makes clear that he wouldn't go to a club like Tottenham because if he goes abroad, he'll go to a top-club.

i agree, he may be ageing but its also a good thing. we need an experienced player to come in and take control of the midfield. he can do this. we have the younger players who just are not there right now and need at least one more season to develop further.
