    What about Lenovo desktops?
    What's the reason you would get a desktop these days though? Seems to me laptops are good enough for almost everything, even small and power efficient ones.

    Only thing I can think of is stuff like Quad/Eight core, 8GB+ memory, multiple video cards maybe, those scenarios.

    Mostly for trading and work purposes.

    I certainly love laptops though. Wouldn't be able to function without one.

    What is trading though? You run a gui program on your machine, but is that just a visualization or does it also do some data crunching?

    Got my thinkpad today. For the most part very satisfied, everything seems to work out of the box on 11.04. It does seem a bit underpowered, the video card seems sluggish. But I read something about linux 3.0 having improvements for onboard video, so maybe the drivers aren't that well optimized yet, we'll see. Even so, I'm satisfied. And it's by far the cheapest machine I've ever bought, beat that. Prices really have dropped appreciably in the last few years.
