One of the issues Juventus faces at the moment, is there’s a small spectrum of coaches available to replace Thiago Motta Juventus like both Conte and Gasperini but both are still tied to contracts. Pioli has the same issue in Saudi Arabia. A ferryman would have to be someone who would take the reins from now until the end of the season, without wanting a longer contract. Both Tudor and Mancini would want to a longer contract and don’t want to be hired on an interim basis. The second reason is the budgetary issue and Giuntoli is working out how to effectively minimize the compensation to be paid to Motta and his managerial staff. This is whats holding the club back and is what is saving Motta.

For me it was when Pirlo became manager. This was a clear sign that we no longer knew what we were doing. At least Sarri had some credentials. Pirlo was so random.
I think that probably escalated the decline, but the appointment of Sarri, and Paratici’s obsession with getting him as Juve coach was the initial major indication that he had no clue what he was doing. Making those big signings like Ronaldo, De Ligt, etc and then signing a lifelong loser of a coach like Sarri to guide them to CL glory. I gave Tootsie the benefit of the doubt on signing Ronaldo (and Cancelo, etc) to push us over the top and then again with the moving on from Allegri in summer 2019… but when instead of going after and getting a top tier coach, he brought in that bum-ass Sarri… well, nail in the coffin, and he just absolutely destroyed this club further and further, leaving irrevocable damage before getting tossed to the curb. We needed Marotta or someone like him after Tootsie to fix things and instead we just continued to make fuck up after fuck up.

This club died the moment Sarri was brought in to replace Allegri. Even earlier, it can really be traced to the decision to back that absolute parasite Paratici with his Ronaldo - senior citizen galacticos quest instead of Marotta and his idea of rejuvenating the squad and reinforcing the midfield in 2018, but the nail in the coffin was bringing in Sarri with his absolute sad sack loser mentality to move forward from the most successful period for the club post-Lippi. Moving on from Max was likely the right decision, but you do it when you have someone lined up who can improve performance and make progress on the back of current results, you bring in a proper top coach.

One absolute shit decision after another since then with zero continuity. Coaches with completely opposite styles come and gone, Directors come and gone, squad chopped and changed every summer. It’s a shitshow and the sad part is it’s a massive self-inflicted wound done from a place of impressive strength in 2017-18, where all we had to do was continue with slowly improving and rejuvenating the squad each summer.

Since 2018, Juve and Inter have gone in exact opposite directions and it can be boiled down to Marotta vs Paratici (and by extension Allegri vs Sarri) and the fallout from this club’s choice. It’s pretty depressing as a Juve fan.
Cardiff is where we died as a club. Ever since that day we lost it all.

Schira:

I had already talked about it several times in recent months. Motta had problems with Danilo and Fagioli and asked the company to sell them. He pissed off months ago with Vlahovic. There is no great relationship with Yildiz. With Gatti, Cambiaso and Thuram feeling so so. Perin disappeared...

Asked ChatGPT to write a roast on Motta:

“ Thiago Motta as Juventus coach? Oh boy, here we go. The man went from inventing a 2-7-2 formation in a press conference to somehow convincing Juventus that he’s the next tactical genius. At this rate, I wouldn’t be surprised if he starts playing Di Gregorio as a false nine.

Juve fans thought Allegri’s football was dull? Just wait until they see Motta’s version of “possession-based” play—sideways passing at the speed of a tortoise on sedatives. You can already hear the Allianz Stadium collectively groaning as Juventus struggle to break down 10-man Venezia.

And let’s be real, this guy had one decent season at Bologna and suddenly he’s the second coming of Lippi? Juventus hiring Motta is like upgrading from a broken-down Fiat to a slightly newer Fiat—still unreliable, still likely to stall when it matters most.

Good luck to Juventus fans. You survived Pirlo’s internship and Allegri’s 19th-century football; now get ready for the Thiago Motta Tactical Experiment—results may vary, but disappointment is guaranteed”

 fairly accurate, but we get much better material out of @Turk_Bianconero on a daily basis.

It's also accurate because the model knows Motta will be conducting the real experiments next season. :klin:

Thiago Motta, lunch with the management and reaffirmed trust. What's filtering through today

Thiago Motta needed a friendly voice — he got two. After yesterday evening's discussion in the Franchi locker room, where Cristiano Giuntoli addressed both the team and the coach directly, further reassurance arrived today. Superficial? Perhaps. But in the meantime, the lunch between the coach and management represented a moment of clarity. There was no overt tension, but a clear message was conveyed: Juventus must bounce back and avoid turning the current struggles into an irreparable disaster. Qualifying for the Champions League remains an essential goal, especially due to its financial implications.

The Lunch Meeting

The idea hasn't changed: Thiago Motta must find a solution to reverse the negative trend of recent weeks. After their Champions League exit, the team experienced a significant collapse, compromising not only their season but also the coach’s credibility in the eyes of both the management and the locker room. And this is the core issue: the players' responsibilities are evident, but equally clear is the coach's struggle to create harmony within the group. Motta has made bold decisions, but internal stability remains fragile.

Today's lunch was an opportunity to clarify things, but also for Motta to vent his frustrations, particularly regarding the media treatment he’s faced in recent days.

The Reaction

In a prior press conference, Di Gregorio had already anticipated the key points of the initial meeting between the squad and management: a change in direction is necessary, and the team must unite. However, today went further. The starting point was clear: the club will continue with Motta. But trust must be mutual. To manage the crisis, the coach needs to feel supported — both in the project and in his footballing ideas. Criticism and headlines must not shake him. He must be a leader — but not a lone man at the helm. He now has two weeks to work on the team's mentality and correct mistakes before the trip to Florence.

Trust on Borrowed Time

The reality remains the same: Thiago Motta is a coach on borrowed time — and not just because of his contract's expiry. The Juve-Genoa match will be crucial. From now on, every game could mark either a collapse or the start of a turnaround. For now, the management has no backup plan, which is why they haven’t yet pulled the trigger on a dismissal. But the result — and more importantly, the performance — on Saturday the 29th will determine whether this trust is genuine or just for show. Time is ticking, and Thiago Motta’s clock keeps counting down.

Let me see, they just now realised that they need to get at least 4th spot for the money. We're out of the CL because of this dickhead
He can't create shit or harmony , he's lost the locker room, bold decisions hhhmmm, maybe playing players out of positions, no picking a starting 11 and staying with that group.
He has to vent his frustration, the way the media treats him, how about how you treat the paying fan with your shit,no game play, game plan, useless unknown reasons for some of the subs you make, and if and when you make them. What formations are you playing no one knows not even the players, keeping players that are healthy on the bench?????.
He needs 2 weeks to fix this mess he created ,with his shit, he's no leader. He needs to be gone as well as the nitwits at the helm of this club, and the owner needs a swift kick up the ass , with steel-toed boots, fix this mess that is your families club or get out, we as fans have had enough of your silence, and lies, and double talk, own up to your failure, which is huge, your a loser, andrea is a winner and that must piss you off more than anything,
If you don't fix it the fans have no choice but to boycott everything juve, even staying away from the stadium, that's the only thing you understand is money, maybe then you'll see that Juventus isn't yours but ours, your just a name , you will be remembered as a loser.
