ThiagoMotta to 'DAZN':

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE FIRST AND THE SECOND HALF
"Yildiz found himself in a better situation today to play, even against the formation that Genoa uses. But there is harmony between the players, they are really good. We need to keep playing well, going on attack in the right way and we created so many chances to score even more goals"
LOCKER ROOM BETWEEN THE FIRST AND THE SECOND HALF
"What did I say to the squad? Beyond the tactical change, very little. They stayed a bit to talk, to tell each other what they needed. They had a good performance. They were also happy with the ones on the bench, without fans they felt that they lived the game together with their teammates"
STILL WITHOUT CONCEDING A GOAL
"It shows that we are a solid team, starting by those in front, the forwards that always help. Of course we have strong defenders. But, the defensive phase, like the offensive one, is done with the full team. We defended with a lot of generosity, in the difficult moments we were a bit more united"
VLAHOVIC
"Becoming more of a leader? Yes, I see it as well. He is a positive leader"

Not a fan of such heavy rotation this early. It still feels like we aren't starting our strongest 11 together but got to give him credit for how much the team has changed in such little time.

We still struggle to create chances when teams sit back and aren't doing enough to stretch teams when they do but once the game opens up we are looking fluid.
The counter to that is perhaps we don’t know our strongest 11 yet. Perhaps Motta doesn’t know. I like how he is giving chances to various players who perform in training and not just going off of their price tags. That’s the way it should be.

this belongs to the koop and vlahovic threads too as both the assist and the finish were good jobs. the team work under pressure is the most promising feature though

Rouhi almost lost the ball there with his heavy touch.
Also that move to the middle by Yildiz made the space for that pass

Motta:

"Tomorrow's match is the most important. We will have great respect for Leipzig who are a great team. We will play the game we have prepared, trying to keep the ball at our feet as much as possible. When we don't have it we will have to be very careful of the quality of our opponents.
Tomorrow we will have to give a complete performance. We will have to play very good football to come out of this away game with a positive result. The defensive phase will be crucial, as well as the offensive phase of course.
All the players are doing well and can play. Tomorrow we will field the best possible line-up. It's important that each of them can express their characteristics to the best of their ability, regardless of who will play.
Thuram and McKennie can definitely play together. We'll see tomorrow whether they will start or possibly enter as subs as the game progresses. As I've always said, those who will come onto the pitch from the bench, as was the case in Genoa, are also very important.
Vlahovic is fine, he has been fine since the first day of the season. He is a positive leader of this group. Of course he is very happy about the brace he scored against Genoa, but his attitude has always been positive, even when the goals didn't come. He has always worked for the good of the team.
Tomorrow I expect a team that will come and press us in our own half, so we will have to be ready for this. We will have to play well with the ball at our feet and be organised when we don't have it. We will have to be a dynamic team.
Conceição? He arrived with an infectious enthusiasm. He wants to play and that is an advantage for me as I can count on many players at my disposal. He is definitely an added value for this team."
