Is this year zero? Looking for some clarity
Elkann:"The 2023/24 season is therefore the ‘Year Zero’, in which the club are laying the foundations for their return, both on and off the pitch.Cristiano Giuntoli, who arrived in 2023 and was just named Best Sporting Director of the Year at the Globe Soccer Awards for his work with Napoli last year, will help shape Juventus’ future. We are on the right track to win trophies."

I don't see how it can even be debated. It's been terrible since a few weeks in and we look more fragile by the week. It's feeling like Pirlo's season but with less quality on the pitch.
100%

Pirlo’s football was an entertaining car wreck.

I don’t even know wtf this garbage I’m watching at the moment is. Boring, static, sterile garbage mixed with shitty defending and looking vulnerable against any team.

At least with Allegri 2.0, we played awful but still won more than we drew.

Ofc, Allegri was a great cook, even when he had shit ingredients. His meals might not have been tasty but kept you full.
True.

That said... We tried switching style once with Sarri and went back to the tried and tested, effectively stopping any progress. Can't do the same now. Bite the bullet and see it through (with or without Motta).

So now we are in year 1? Somehow it feels year minus 1.

One consistent issue over the course of the season is a slackness from the players.

When we have a one goal lead we play as though we are 2-0 or 3-0 up, we seem so slack at trying to force the second goal. The players seem to lack that drive to force the second goal that they do when we have chased a game and come across like missing chances doesn't matter because the game is in the bag.

Then we have a slackness defensively with players switching off and making amateurish mistakes. This has been consistent with multiple players on multiple occasions.

We need to find out what the issue is on that. Instead of Motta crouching on the sidelines saying not very much would someone like Conte who is consistently barking orders bring more focus?

Where's the early season stuff? You're not protecting some of these youngsters playing less aggressive. Please don't turn into another play not to lose garbage we've had to endore for long enough.

26 games so far, 11 wins, 13 draws and 2 losses. Winning less than 50% of the games after half a season is worthy of a sack. I cant see how he turns this around, by not changing anything in the way the team plays.

Alessio Tacchinardi to Italia1: “This Juventus is not obsessed with winning there is casual attitude of the players. Thiago's Motta mentality surprises me. In my 11 years of Juve we were obsessed with winning even the training matches…”
