But, but winning is all that matters!

I'm thinking it will take a few seasons before we win anything, do we have patience for that no. Will fans call for his sacking after the first season, absolutely?
We will be title contenders in year 2 at worst.

The quality of the squad is improving tremendously. Given the state of the league and the promise Motta has shown, I'd be surprised if things go south.

We will get it right eventually.

Yeah its kinda crazy Palladino, De Rossi, Gilardino, Thiago Motta and Nesta are actual Serie A coaches.

It feels really surreal, time really flies.
From Badass' belittling comparison with Paro back in the day to now playing JJ in the opening game of next season as a young promising coach, Fabregas sure has come a long way!

I just don't like when we're depending on fake wingers (aka wingbacks) to provide our attacking width. Yes it can be effective, especially with top wingbacks (which we don't have), but I'd like to see us play with real wingers, on both sides, for a change.
agreed, that's why i wanted to see macs trying 3-4-3, would have been more fitting to all of our wide players. anyway...

While we all have enthusiasm about Motta, I think we need to be realistic and the fans and management need to be patient.

It will be a massive change in football philosophy from one of sitting deep and passive play to proactive possession based football. There will inevitably be a lengthy adjustment which will result in mistakes from playing out from the back etc. Many players will struggle to adapt - especially some of the older players.

It’s important to stay the course and be patient. This is why a squad revolution and a lengthy and productive pre season is essential.

We should not expect this team to be title contenders. A good outcome will be a top 4 finish but playing better football where the potential has a higher ceiling than what was possible under Allegri style off outdated football.
Remember this comment, because you're going to see the complete opposite here.

We should absolutely expect this team in current Serie A to challenge for the title. I dont expect to hit the ground running but over the 38 rounds Motta will have enough time to implement his ideas of football. I have no doubt we will win the Scudetto next season.

3rd place, I'm calling it now. 2nd if we keep Chiesa.

Absolutely. And once again it will be the Allegri folks who don't give the new manager enough time, expecting immediate results like they did with Sarri and Pirlo.
You already know :D

Pirlo was the same, he won a trophy, but people hates him for the number of goals we conceded and also in the manner we lost/conceded. I expect us to concede a lot of goals, something we are not used and of course in return score a lot more too.
We need to care less about conceding. Change the mindset to always strive to score three goals, then we only loose when we concede four

I don't understand the Pirlo comparison because Motta's Bologna have been pretty solid defensively.

Conceded pretty much same amount of goals as Jihadventus of last season.

I don't see the gung-ho approach that people are speculating about. Motta's more balanced than you think.

What I would expect us to see is show more aggressiveness and intensity on and off the ball. Maybe that's why we are replacing more than half of the squad as most of them were programmed to play jihadball. So it's a hard reset in that sense.
