Something quite similar happened to a friend of mine a few years back. He was lucky enough not to lose his finger but ripped a few tendons in his hand, can't straighten out his fingers now. Silly buggers ought not to be jumping on wired fences.
When he jumped on the fence, a little wire bit from the fence slipped in between his finger and his ring without him realising.
When he jumped down, the ring and wire obviously dug into his skin and ripped half of his finger off. With the amount of force from jumping down, it was inevitable.
