Aguero >>>>>> Benzema
Yes, but thats besides the point. We are not in a position to be hand picking (potentially) quality players. We need one of them, and we get what we can get. We cant fuss over Messi > Ronaldo > Tevez > Rooney > Aguero > Rossi > Benzema kinda musings (hypothetical stuff, dont argue it), when frankly speaking, getting anyone who is a real quality/very good player who would be an upgrade is MIRACLE in itself with this current fucked up state of ours.

Marotta: I'm pleased to announce that we've made a deal with Atletico de Madrid to sign Javi Valera on loan with option to loan for another year.

Whip out the balls and just sign him. Seriously, this club keeps raving about how they are going to change and get back to glory without doing a goddamn thing. You can't loan+buy a player of this class, you have show determination for him to even want to come here - let alone the club to give him up.

ALL VALID POINTS. But here is the kicker, but we are NOT in the luxury position to fuss over how good or not an obvious fantastic player is, or if we cant get a better fantastic player or not :p I heard the same arguments with Benzema, ffs, we need to get one, ANY OF THEM, it would be instant upgrade. If we were Real Madrid, Chelsea, Barca, Man U or Inter etc, then I would get fussing over the direct choice of the big name signings we could do. But we need a big name/quality signing, period, its that simple.
I know what you mean OS. But the thing is, I'm feeling a sense of Déjà Vu here, it's almost reminding me of last season and all the hysteria surrounding Diegos arrival with Ferrara at the helm. Now we in all likelihood have Conte with perhaps Aguero thrown into the mix, and we could be blowing half our summer budget on a position that can wait another year while ignoring areas on the pitch that have been screaming for reinforcements. Id much rather have Cissokho and Bosingwa than Aguero at this point. Yes, it's nice to see us train our guns a little higher. But it's not going to chage our results, because a move like this is the difference between Ziegler at LB and Cissokho. What good is Aguero when the team behind him is going to leak goals like they've done the past two seasons? The same frigging mistakes. Only this time they're going to be costlier.
