They didn't came and after he came close to a mental breakdown he decided to move asap. Liverpool were the only one with an offer. Tottenham didn't wanted him anymore during that time. If his own mental situation and the coaching situation at Ajax would have been better than there was little chance of seeing Suarez leave Ajax.

Big players would ask for even more than what Buffon earns. I don't see Marotta giving 8M/y to Aguero, but I can see him giving that to Pepe, Bastos and the likes together.
