You can't be sure that they'll work better. They were a pretty average pair this season. I know they should improve over time but first season of them was rather disappointing IMO. De Ceglie might be terrible again. It's just too much risk and we could easily start the next season with very weak defense, again.

I do agree we need alternatives. But those two could cost 25-30mln euros and it's too much to pay for such role. We scored many goals this season but most of the time it was either our midfield and our defense that it didn't work at all. IMO we should play 4-3-3 with wide wingers, it would give us much more options.

Agree with the second statement. If it was up to me, I'd bring back Giovinco and invest on Hernanes and fullbacks. That or get Sanchez and see how it all pans out .

Agree with the second statement. If it was up to me, I'd bring back Giovinco and invest on Hernanes and fullbacks. That or get Sanchez and see how it all pans out .

I don't think we'll get Hernanes though, chances are below 5%. He will stay at least one or two more seasons there and move after, for a lot of cash. He's a great player though.

Fellas realistic team is not that bad. We just need someone upfront capable of magic. Midfield capable of a lot of mileage supporting the two upfront able to their magic.

Not that bad is not good enough Dom. We need an awesome team if we are to finish 3'rd next season. We need quality and depth, otherwise we stand no chance over the course of a long season against the likes of Milan and Inter. Moreover, with Roma and Napoli probably strengthening over the summer, we have to bring in high quality players. Pirlo, Montolivo, Gilardino, and 2'nd rate garbage like the aforementioned trio are not going to cut it!

It just sounds too weird. So what, we'll play Marchisio - Aquilani/Pirlo? That surely looks like a sissy midfield and we'll have Krasic and Bastos who don't even track back, especially Milos. Looks like a very fragile midfield. If they plan it to work we'll need 2 world class full backs.

But Melo is the last person we should be selling.

Weird is not the right word here. It sounds absolutely awful.
That's why I don't understand why the Pirlo/Montolivo rumours keep popping up. One of them to replace Aqui would make sense, keeping Aqui & signing (one of) them just doesn't.
