Samp expect Ziegler exit
Sampdoria are afraid that Reto Ziegler has already decided to leave the club once his contract expires in June.
The Swiss international is only tied to the Marassi outfit until the summer and talks over a renewal have stalled.
“He’s a great guy and an excellent professional,” Samp sporting director Doriano Tosi stated on Monday. “But he’s asking for an important wage.
“The fear is that the player has already made up his mind and his departure is a real possibility.
“We’ve tried to reach a deal with him in these months, we spoke 20 days ago too, but it is clear that right now our priority is our League position.
“We have the hope that he could stay, but at the moment there is a significant chance that he won’t.”
The left-back was targeted by Lazio in January, while clubs such as Juventus and Liverpool have also been associated with a move for the defender over the last 12 months.
