So was Zidane, what? Zidane - world class player, not Juventino. Marchisio, not world class, Juventino.

I guess many don't want an identity anymore, but I've suspected that for some time.

Not that I suppose the club will agree with this thought process either way.
You're being too polarized. We want an identity and I personally like bringing in players from the Primavera. But every player has a price, and we need the cash, so you do the math.

If you think Marchisio shouldn't be available for any price, or any player for that matter, then you clearly are delusional.

What's the difference between Giovinco and Marchisio? Both showed glimpses of brilliance for us but were mostly average.
About a foot and a half. I don't not want Giovinco back, by the way. This only comes about because I contest the heavily pro-Giovinco posse, who see above his whining, his flaws and his general output. When Giovinco emerged I was excited, now I'm indifferent. I'd love to have good Juventino playing for the team, but Giovinco has gone down a different path and it's up to him now.

COME ON!! Not even me?
Can you play right back?

I agree Jay Giovinco does not have a future here. I'm all for having identity but Marchisio has stagnated and they're better options than him on the market. If an offer comes in for him then he should go so we can move forward with a better player.

Delusional and polarized, any other pejoratives you can add to 'aid' your argument? It's not true that every player has a price, there are exceptions, but few and far between in modern football. When a club doesn't want to sell and the player strictly doesn't want to leave then they don't. That's absolutely not the case with the Zidane transfer, which you brought up.

As for Marchisio, he clearly has a price tag because he is not a world class player, but it is also larger than an equivalent talent player would be without his background and homegrown status with the club. That's the same anywhere. I'll repeat, I'd prefer to keep these players and sell others if need be. That also goes for players who have had their heart and soul at the club over the years, adopted Juventini as well as naturals.

It'll be to the detriment of the club, I promise. Great things are built on the back of those with their heart in the club. Look at the most successful clubs of the last 15-20 years and see where the players who will run through brick walls come from.

Then why not do it with Aquilani. Considering his wages compared to Marchisio, I don't think we will end up saving much by selling Marchi and getting a replacement+ Aqua.
It will most likely cost us the same as not getting Aquilani and sing another CM and save a few mil there.

This situation is not even comparable to the sell of Zidane as we most likely won't get +15mil offer for Marchi, and like Mark said with Marotta in charge we will end up spending it all on a Montolivo or similar player. It's not like we will get three quality players with the sell of Marchisio.

i'am with the 4-2-3-1 formation the modern football is about playin' with wings.. play Marchisio as a CM and someone like Melo if not him as a DM and we don't need Aquilani and get some one like Pastore as an AMC an get Giovinco back or someone else if not him as a LW and 2 fullbacks then we are set.. it's about 3 or 4 classy players needed i can live with Quag or Matri as a CF if the 3 behind him are deadly and can score goals and secured with great fullbacks.. but what we are doing now is just tryin' to survive and we didn't survive either cause we don't look high and we didn't act like we want to get back to glory times.

end of story i don't think we will do any good if we continue with this Marotta and payin' so little. if you want something go and buy it for God sake it's about money. limited players like pepe and such will always make it more difficult.

we made a revolution here in egypt for god sake :juve1:

You were being too polarized. Who here doesn't want the team made up of Juventini, or who doesn't want an identity? Nobody, so don't make it sound like that's the majority.

As for Marchisio, he clearly has a price tag because he is not a world class player, but it is also larger than an equivalent talent player would be without his background and homegrown status with the club. I'd like to keep them too, unless we can get a better player instead, which we probably can if the 20M rumor is true.

But it's probably not true, so no need to fret. He's staying. It's just that Marchisio is made up to be some great player just because he's a Juventino, which is wrong and completely biased.
