Me thinks it is only a tactic to see if it can help in the negotiations with Liverpool.
If we talk about not buying Aquilani, they might lower their demands since they don't want him back and since he clearly wants to stay.
Also, I read on a Ducth website that Liverpool wants to offer 11MEuro for Affelay so if that happens, they definately wont need Aquilani back

But he is still a bit immature (normal, his first year in europe) and don't know if he is ready for a bigger challenge. I think he is a non-EU dude and there are better guys to choose for our only one spot.

I like Fucile too, he could be an excellent backup or even a good starter.

What kind of player is M'Vila? Does he have any playmaking skills?

M'Vila is a defensive midfielder. He's not a playmaker, but is a decent passer of the ball. If we were to buy him he'd be the Sissoko replacement, not Aquilani.
