How come we are linked to so many crappy players, and we don't even manage to wheel in these players?

Actually why isn't anything happening at all?Is it all the lack of money? What about loan deals? Marotta and Del Neri can't really be thinking that we can get into the CL with this squad?

Why not? If Del Piero keeps up his form I can see us being better than Roma and Lazio.

Well, because our fullbacks are hardly noticable during defending, we lack width in attack, due to the injuries....
Traore looks good enough for now, a RB would be very nice but not easy to get.

If this squad wants to achieve anything (which it surely can qualitywise) it has to come from great organization, labour, proper coaching etc. and not buying more players we probably wouldn't need for the time they have a contract. The goals we concede is the most worrying part about this squad, we haven't managed to keep a clean sheet in something like 10 rounds now, not because our fullbacks are poor but actually because the defence isn't organized at all. The goals we concede are just impossible to blaim only our fullbacks, CB's and CM's don't do anything effective either (look at Aquilani during the Bari match, he was mainly to blaim for that goal, that goal from Bari was 1900-era tactic)

I agree with you that the fullbacks aren't the only one to blame. However I believe that if we had better fullbacks the ammount of goals we conceded were far less than now. We keep playing cb's for rb and Traore isn't looking that confident defending. The only hope we have is that Buffon manage to organize the defence more proberly while this should be Chiello's task.

Also we miss Melo in this matter as well...

Yep, defence improving is the first thing we should do therefor I would say don't pay 10M for Fabiano (loaning would be nice :D) and try to look for a fullback this mercato and when the summer come look for a proper Del Piero replacement, I hope we won't waste money like we do with paying Toni, Trez, Iaq and Amauri's wages while we still don't have a proper a striker.

That's exactly what I meant!

Petrovic is wanted by Manchester United.

He did seem decent to me, but I'd never say he'd be wanted by teams like Manchester... it kinda surprised me.
Naaaah :D

A, onda, veleobrt!
