No to Maxi and other average players we are linked. We have already Iaquinta and Amauri who can be backups for Dzeko if sign him.

In: Ziegler, Rakitic (both contract expire in 2011), Cassano for free/loan a striker

All are not "big signings" in terms of money.

Out: Manninger (Gigi back and no Europa games anymore), Grosso, Brazzo, Amauri (if there is a buyer)

That would be very ideal for January

this is exaclty it. this squad has good depth, we need 3 top players not squad ones.
Is it exactly it? Or is it just it? How do you know it's exactly it and not just it or more than likely it? Is that it? Or is it exactly? Get it?

I read a few pages back about comparison of Dzeko and Aguero
There is no comparison as they are different kind of players one is SS and one is a finishing kind of striker
Its like comparing a DM to an attacking midfielder they are both midfielders but very different roles

as for Dzeko I rate him as top 5 in the world (in his role)
as for Aguero I rate him as the best or second best in his role (there is also Ibrahimovic) unless you consider Ronaldo as a SS

'Juve face competition for Maxi'
Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta admits that signing a player of Maxi Lopez's calibre will not be easy, especially amid great competition.

The 26-year-old Argentine striker is rumoured to be one of Juventus' top transfer targets in the January transfer window, although Marotta is remaining coy.

Interviewed on Sky Italia, he said: “We aren't the only ones who like him. But there has been no contact with Catania and I don't think there will be any soon.

“First we must make judgements between ourselves. Let's say that we haven't been able to count on Amauri, an important striker who we have missed.

“We must improve the squad in terms of quality. Our objective is that of reinforcing this squad. We must evaluate two things: the first is the opportunities that present themselves and the second is the financial aspect, as we can't do big business in this transfer window.”

Asked about other reported targets like Alessandro Matri and Giampaolo Pazzini, he said: “They are players who could form part of an important team like Juventus or Milan.

“Right now the strategy doesn't foresee important investments, but in June or July anything can happen and Matri and Pazzini are super interesting elements for a team like Juventus.”
