As we all know, the weakest sports in the team are the left and the right side of the defence. We haven't had a strong back since Zambrotta's leaving and that's unacceptable. Gareth Bale will be a great signing, but it is going to be really difficult to take him. Having a player like Bale is a must for every champion. Inter got Maicon, United - Evra, Real Madrid - Marcelo, Chelsea - Ashley Cole. So, we have De Ceglie and Grygera... Such a deal will cost much money, but it's essential for our future. I hope Agnelli and Marotta realize that.
Additionally, I would like a strong left winger, but let's not be greedy:). So far Pepe is unconvincing. Maybe Martinez will do the job. I'm extremely curious about his first complete game for Juve.

Did you describe Marcelo and Bale as WC-fullbacks, because if either of them is WC then they most certainly are not that at defending. When you're asking for a class lw that is where you should enter Bales name.

Well, nowadays most of the fullbacks are more wingers than defenders. And yes - Marcelo is a great player. Have you seen him this season? He is fantastic. Like Mourinho said.

Yes he is playing very well, but Mourinho brings the best out of every player in his team, so you have to take that into account. Marcelo before this season was simply a good attacking player who couldn't defend very well, he hasn't miraculously changed and doesn't deserve to be mentioned alongside Evra and Cole, for now at least.

I agree.

Though it doesn't mean it doesn't impresses other users, as some posts have illustrated already.

I have the belief that some people here want to change so much of the current Juventus squad, that whenever a player (who in this case is admittedly very good) shows a decent performance they would jump in the bandwagon and get caught in the hype.

I do think Bale has what it takes to be a top player, but expecting hat tricks against teams like Inter or WC performances everytime is far fetched.
In this forum, a footballer is only as good as his last performance.
