Brazilians as great talents as they are, i'm always suspicious whenever we get one. The newer generation of their "star" players tend to just stop performing at certain level of their careers. Robinho, adriano, ronaldinho... Even Pele said once that the image of their newer generation players are pretty bad.

Not stereotyping-generalizing but IMO brazilian players have a weak mentality. When things don't go their way, they seem to just not give a fuck anymore (although there are few exceptions like Diego for example).

Whenever I think of a player being a nutter, I remember when Cassano said that at Juventus he wouldn't have had any of his problems.

With a South American first making the switch to Europe, you have to worry about whether he is going to settle well enough (especially for a teenager). At least we would have a couple of Brazilians in the squad to help him, and Felipe Melo has had enough problems here to pass on some pearls of wisdom.

There's also plenty of Brazillians in Milan too which is only up the road from Turin, alot of Brazillians seem to settle in Italy quickly so it could be a very good move for Neymar.

As much as I would like us to get Neymar, I think Dzeko would be a better option for us.
We need a replacement for DP as he is 200 years old (altough still quite good)
BUT as much as we need it we need a real striker who could really score a lot more!
Lets face it Amauri isn`t exactly a goal machine and Iaquinta isn`t wc eigther

We need a replacement for both Del Piero and for either Amauri or Iaquinta (I am being realistic here and not saying both).

There are several good SSs out there who can replace Ale, but not as many good strikers as Dzeko who can replace one of the others.

Good point but I like the sound of Neymar in that he turned down Chelsea to stay at Santos as he didn't feel ready to go to Europe yet. He sounds different to Adriano or Robinho.

The problem is the Juve Cassano was refering to has changed a lot to the Juve that we see today.

I read a good article about Brazilian players coming to Europe and not integrating into society, eg a player at Shaktar who just goes home and talks to his Brazilian friends on the internet, and only watches Brazilian tv.

However, with Italy being similar in culture and language to Brazil, they do seem to settle well.

Adebayor: 'I'd like to play for Juve'
Saturday 2 October, 2010
Emmanuel Adebayor has dropped a heavy hint that he’d favour a January move to Juventus. “I’d like to play in Italy and can’t go on like this.”

The Manchester City striker has been relegated to the sidelines under Roberto Mancini and made a less than impressive impact in the 1-1 Europa League draw with the Bianconeri.

“I’d like to play in Italy and I can see myself in black and white stripes,” he told Tuttosport newspaper.

“I talked it over with Patrick Vieira, who holds excellent memories of the season he spent in Turin.

“Your football focuses a lot on technique and I like it. I had already been in talks for a move to Juve during Fabio Capello’s time at the club, but nothing ever came of it.

“At the time I was very young, but now I am fully mature.”

Adebayor had already been linked with Milan and Inter when he left Arsenal, but the big money move to Manchester City has not worked out well.

“I am going through a delicate moment in my career and something has to change. I am not annoyed with Mancini and we have an honest rapport, but we can’t go on like this indefinitely.

“Therefore, if Juve want me...”

Wolfsburg ace Dzeko is said to be one of the Italian coach’s main wants, but Eastlands coach Attilio Lombardo believes the Bosnian will take up the interest from Juventus.

"We wanted Edin Dzeko, but we have already given up because it looks like he will end up in the black and white," said the former Bianconeri winger, a UEFA Champions League winner in 1996.

Dzeko you want huh?:p

True, but that doesn't necessarily mean that this Juve won't have a similar effect on players.

I agree regarding it being easier to adapt to Italy. Look at the number of Brazilian national team members that have played for either Milan club recently. Just look at the number of Brazilians playing for Shakhtar, I'm guessing they all avoid changing to the lifestyle and are around each other a lot in their free time. Not that it's a bad thing, because Shakhtar seem to actually be getting results recently.
