It depends on how well Benz can play the striker role, we need a Drogba type player or a Dzeko type, we haven't had a propper front paring since Trez was regularly starting.

Amauri and Iaq should never be starting for this club, I'd take the 2 if Benz could play in such a role other wise we'd have 4 SS, which is overkill.

Well they would most probably play them because they would be our best two strikers but I think a center forward is too important a role in a 4-4-2 to neglect. And I don't consider either of the two able to play that role.

Yeah, Benzema plays as a CF. He's just a bit more versatile.
He's not really anything special in the air. Neither is Cassano. In a 4-4-2 you need a player who's good in the air, a six yard box killer like Trez as well as a support striker who can go in deep, create for his partner and score goals. We saw what happened when we had no presence in that area playing Quag-DP. Crosses came into the box in vein.

Benzema is what you call a power forward, he is no limited poacher/big of who hangs in the box and heads/pokes in balls, but he is DEFENITELY box player, just because he has varied qualities like speed, dribbling, technique doesnt mean he is too similar to Cassano :howler: Its like saying Henry is too similar to Cassano (and Benzema is more of a striker then Henry was).

Rest assured, the Benz HAS presence in the box.

I watched pretty much his entire best goal scoring season at Lyon. I'm not saying he doesn't impress me, I'd welcome him with open arms (and legs) but I still think I would rather Dzeko who is also a well rounded striker and IMO much better and play him next to a striker who will connect those crosses.
