Realistically I think this is what I expect Juve can be next season under Marotta:

Qauq Matri

Bastos Aquilani Melo Krasic

De Ceglie Chielline Bonucci Beck

Buffon

Not a bad team, and under the right management it can reach top 5. But masive :sergio: if Del Neri remains as the manager.
Why are people always calling him that? The fourth letter is a g, not a q.

How Capello failed to win the Champions League with that team god knows.
There's some reasons, Ibra's choking in the CL is one of the reasons.
And I don't think Emerson Vieira was the right combination in the middle. Juve missed someone like Davids who would dominate the game with his movement.

Not sure why, I just got used to type his name like that.

That's probably the closest thing to what our team will look like next season. It's not revolutionary, but it does improve on the 2 biggest holes in our team.

It would be great to get a new LB, because once De Ceglie returns we'll remember how average he is and be calling for his head again. Let's remember that he started improving only a couple of matches before he was injured, and there's no knowing whether that was a flash in the pan. Besides, he wasn't even that great in those matches; just good by De Ceglie's standards.

If we can get Beck and Bastos and find a first-choice LB, with the right manager we'll be in the CL in 2 seasons time.

Maybe we can get Zarate for a similar situation as Cassano, no? His agent is fucking up with Lazio.

With Deschampions I believe we can make a try for M'Vila, Hazard and maybe Cissokho. Plus Sorensen, Matri/Quag, maybe Aquaman, Ekdal, Giovinco, a good RB and we are good. Btw, does anyone know if Didier likes Giovinco?

I think Ceglie needs more playing time. Playing regularly can do wonders for players. Look at how Abate improved this season, you can also take Fletcher as an example, when he started to get played regularly in 2008/2009 he started to improve, year later he is in the team of the season.
Another example of what playing regularly can do to the player is Gareth Bale, massive improvement when Harry moved him to the wing and kept him there, it took him a bit of time to get used into his new position and then he started to show promises.

Many capable options we can get for left wing would though, that we need to sign on that position is obvious, but just not keen on Bastos being that choice. There quite bit of players we can get who would be better, and not just dream signing level players.
That's true, and a guy like Willian is one of them. We'd probably have to pay the same amount as we would for Bastos, but he's a better player I think. Crafty player. But I doubt many here would like him for his stature and undefensiveness (sic).

And yes, bring back the 2 Non-EU's, you bunch of footballing degenerates.

Deschamps plays 4-3-3, no?..

Sanchez - Matri/Quag - Krasic

Hazard

M'Vila - Melo

De Ceglie - Chiellini - Bonucci - Beck

Buffon

:tuttosport:
That's pretty sweet, but obviously we won't be getting Sanchez or Hazard, so dream on. :p

M'Vila and Melo would form a Capello-like partnership, almost a carbon copy of Emerson and Vieira. Strong, tough battlers, but in this scenario we would need someone who could come back for the ball to pull the strings. I don't see Hazard as that sort of player. I'd want him working more towards the sides or further up the pitch, hovering around the box, as his pace and skill on the ball makes him a delight to watch when running at defenders. In your setup, he'd have to come back more, which wouldn't be utilizing him proficiently, IMO.

So therefore, I say screw Sanchez and buy Hazard and Pastore. The latter is your guy to take that role in front of the two brutes.

No, that's a "more than formation" 4-3-3
On FM it is.

That's more of 4-2-1-3 I assume that Krasic and Sanchez are playing as forwards (or forward wingers whatever it's called)

Spalletti would love a player like Quag, he is a bit like Totti, can lead the line and can play as a supportive striker, Spalletti can bring back his 'fake striker' tactic that he used with Roma.
Please no. It was nice to watch, but I'd hate that shit if it was my side. We need a poacher in there. Totti's "withdrawn centre forward" stint is one of the reasons why I didn't agree with what Spalletti was trying.

Vucinic-Quag-Krasic

Sanchez

Mascherano-Aquilani

De Ceglie-Chiellini-Bonucci-Beck

Buffon

That'd be a lovely formation under Spalletti.
Again, Sanchez would be the guy coming back to get the ball from the defense or the two Sasquatches behind him. He, like Hazard, are better further up running at players. In this role, you'd need a player like Pastore instead who can operate as a passer.

Nor will we play a 4-4-2 next season.
Whatever you say, Miss Cleo!

I know most of you don't really watch Lille, but they run a 4-3-3 with Hazard and Gervinho on the sides. Hazard doesn't operate in the center of midfield because they have Cabaye and Debuchy pulling the strings. The little Brussels Sprout is either off to the side or running across the box on the counter.
