Bastos is like a wing-back. He'd be good in a 3-4-1-2 like we had in the late 90's and early 2000's. Back then we used to play the likes of Zambro/Birindelli and Pessotto on the wings of the midfield 4, sometimes turning into a back 5. Those were the days when Zizou and Davids were strolling around the midfield like a walk in the park. How times have changed.
I can totally see why DelNeri would want Bastos. If he was about 50% cheaper, I would as well. But that capital should be used for more quality.
