It's hard to loan a player without any experience effectively to any club if he's not getting playing time because they can't make the profit out of him. The whole point of Udinese is to find young talents and sell them off for 10x higher than what they purchased them for. I think there needs to be a reserve league or something to encourage playing time (also a way of letting the Salihamidzic types of the world prove themselves).
It was just an example.

Even if you let Udinese (for instance) buy half the player, it would still end up cheaper than the way things tend to go just now.

Reserve league. Definitely. Realistic, no, because as we all know the foreigners are to blame for whatever happens in A.

You talk about balance and put Gourcuff as a LW? How is that going to help defensively?
Very simple, he plays LM(he can, at bordeaux, they used to switch flanks sometimes), and has to track back and defend his flank. pretty much the same what nedved had to do.

I would prefer Matri than that overrated '17' year-old.
I see him play each week for two years, and can conclude i rather agree with Piet De Visser's opinion then yours.

Belgians arent as chauvinistic as france or holland

Kompany is "doing good" at man city, proven by him beeing player of the month september, and imo the best CB they got.
Van buyten, is considered halfdecent, and we dont get what bayeren actually see in him.
Hazard is a good talent.
Fellaini went for far to much money to everton, but he is a pretty good cm.
And lukaku, wel he's a talent, and we all find him very good and talented, but we dont claim he'll be an european superstar. we think he is way to good for our belgian league, wich is true.

If lukaku played in Holland, they would probably all claim he's the new drogba and better then vanistelrooi
we dont

I'm sure that the problem at Juve is every bit as much that the club isn't very willing to throw cash at a 17 year old on the off chance they fulfil their potential.

However, Juve should, I feel, be in a position to make an investment when a chance comes along. Look at Man Utd and Bebe; they got a strong recommendation and immediately spent 7m on him. He may or may not make it, but you have to admire the fact that they are able and willing to make that investment.

I'm not suggesting Juve go in for harvesting very young players from lesser clubs the way some clubs do, but Juve do need to be more willing to sign young players and develop them, even if it just means signing a kid and loaning him to Udinese, instead of watching Udinese sign him, develop him and sell him to Juve for 15m.
I agree with you, although Man Utd's current position is different from ours, for example. They are adding the occasional young player like Bebe or Chicarito to an already very competitive squad, the same as we used to try with the first team (discounting the million loans/co-owns etc).

Of course if we sign a player and loan him to Udinese it means a proportion of our current budget has gone to another team in the short term, whilst we are trying to build a team that can compete a CL spot in a short space of time.

Maybe Piazon is in fact the start of this change in mentality we desire.

The guy is 17, he can still grow (technical and tactical I mean of course) for at least 5-6 years, he'll be among the top strikers in a few years, I am positive

Wtf? Gourcuff played exclusively in the hole, AM for Bordeuax, he played as trequartista with zero defensive responsibility very much free role (this prolly confused you as a winger? He could roam everywhere he liked). He started out his career as CM in Rennes, but generally too laid back to play and not tough enough to deal with it. Occasionally been tried as LM (when in Milan for example), but sucked at it. Deffo is NOT LM (not mobile enough), for us, in a 4-4-2, he would play as SS or nothing else (since we dont play with Trequartista role), he is exactly kinda player Diego was for us, except he prolly plays higher up at times because he is good scorer.

In a 4-4-2, Hazard would deffo make more sense, as in even if he is very offensive winger, he occasionally tracks back now and then, and help out his fullback partner, though his task is and should remain to be offensive duties.

Wtf made you think Gourcuff would more defensively sound option in left wing? Weird.

:howler: :howler:

It took me 2 Europa League games to instantly see the kid WILL BE A DEFENITE STAR. Its that simple, watch him (and ask what Ajax fans think of him :D). Kid is a beast.

You gotta be kidding me with Matri bit, there is a reason why it took until he was 27 to end up in a top team, and thats only because we super desperate.

I have seen a lot of him actually and the reason I would prefer Matri is that Lukaku won't go away from Anderlecht under 25-30 mil which is totally insane! And I also wouldn't take Matri for 18 mil, that is crazy too.

And when you say 'ask Ajax fans what they think about him' I guess you think about 17.12.2009. when he scored in 13th minute? Well,I have something to inform you about... That goal and other 2 of Anderlecht threw Dinamo out of Europe so maybe that is just a bit reason why I hate him and wouldn't like to see him anywhere near Juve shirt.

You don't like Lukaku because he knocked Dinamo out of the Europa League. What if Juve knocks Dinamo out?:D

Ohhh that is hard question, Aaron :D

It depends on the way they would do that. You see,Ajax let Anderlecht win that game so they both could go to the next round and I don't believe Juve would do the same to us.

But what makes you think Dinamo wouldn't beat Juve? ;)
