If we didn't have the money, then there was too little we could do, don't you think? Our budget will vastly depend on the potential CL participation and in January we can't know if we will have +30m eur cash to pay for Dzeko.
Give it a little time. I think that in the following days we will learn more about what was happening behind the scenes.
I don't know why but I don't trust Marotta and I'm sick and tired with all these average zabars we are linked with.

as i posted before, Juve have acted as a provincial side on the most part in the mercato, look back and see, who was zidane before he came to Juve? who was ravanelli? who was davids? we had only bought quality when we had to (exception of the secco era), i.e. when we sold zidane, we can't question marotta, thus far he has proven practically everyone wrong, it wasn't too long ago people were calling for his head when we loaned quagliarella having just sold diego, now don't tell me diego is still the better player for us?

I think we ultimatley could afford Dzeko but we were never going to offer those kind of wages. He said he'd accept a paycut but Juve were never going to offer more than 5 Million. Was he that willing to take a 4 Million drop plus lose out a 3 Million signing fee? I don't think so. This is why at times Marotta is powerless.

I still prefer 2 full backs and probably even a winger instead of Dzeko. I seriously believe Juventus is still not in a position to pay that amount of money and then invest even more in other areas.

Fill in the blanks for the Summer:

ST-Quag

LW-Aquilani-Melo-Krasic

LB-Chiellini-Bonucci-RB

Buffon

I'd like it to be Benzema,Neymar,Kolarov and VDW

Perhaps: Pazzini,Bastos,Cassani and Cissoko

It's easy to say it but tougher to do it.
Some players are simply a "must get" and rarely an opportunity pops up for clubs of our financial power to get them. If and when such an opportunity pops up, it should be taken.
Personally I was willing to get Dzeko and sacrifice other positions. We need quality full backs, quality LW and a top quality striker. We can't get all 4 in one year anyway. We can get 4 players for that position, but how good will they be?

As it happened we didn't get Dzeko and we have more money for other positions. Which players will we get that can improve the team both short and long term, as Dzeko would have done?

Neymar for one. Heck put Pazzini in this team and he'd grab double figures sure he's not Dzeko but with quality service he'd score the goals.

Alas an on form Benzema is as good as Dzeko also.
