From Buffon's transfer we could not possibly get more than €20-22M. Which player for that kind of money can be a bigger asset to our team than Buffon, the man who every player respect and is the best player in his position? No one. Gigi stays.

Some people really underestimate the importance of a quality goalkeeper. The man offers reassurance & stability at the back, along with his mere presence offering a morale boost.

Ah, the good old cashing-in business. :touched:
How many times have we heard that excuse about Trez? Now most of us would take him back in a heartbeat.:touched:

Are you trying to suggest that Storari is as good as Buffon?
Not at all no keeper is when Buffon is on top form.

I'm stating that Storari is good enough to be our number one keeper if we sell Buffon. Whereas yours and V's points was cashing in Trez was a bad idea. I wonder if Dzeko had scored 15+ goals already for us if he came in the summer you and V would still think selling Trez was a bad idea.

Selling players is not the issue it's replacing them properly, if Buffon is going to miss half a season every year then it's a no brainer to sell him.

Storari is more than good enough to be our number one.

Storari won't maintain this kind of form & really isn't good enough for a permanent starting spot imo.

Using Dzeko as an example is bad because we'd obviously would be excited but there's no way he could play every single game. That would have still left us relying of Amauri & Iaquinta, so yes i would still think of it as a bad idea.

Storari was the best goalkeeper in Italy last season and is on par again with Abbiati at Milan, I think he will sustain this form but that's opinion.

I used Dzeko as an example on how letting big players go is not really an issue aslong as you replace them with somebody younger and of equal standard. The new Juve model seem's to be focusing on younger players aswell and reducing the wage bill. Buffon being on 10 Million a year is too high for somebody at his age. Amauri being another clown who's on too much at our club and will be sold in the Summer. Del Piero will be taking a reduced contract soon also, I think Buffon needs to do the same.

That being said I love Buffon and I hope he recovers from this injury at reaches top level again because he'll be a valuable asset and unsellable.

Storari is good. But so was Manninger before that. But neither will offer the kind of saves, which turn the whole game around, as consistently as Buffon.

Buffon is a game-winner. We've been without him for a long time, so maybe you've forgotten that. Storari is not that. Good keeper, but nowhere near Gigi's level.

So you wouldn't have an issue with us selling Chiellini & signing Kjaer as his replacement? That's what you're suggesting, even Storari's current form can't be compared to Buffon when average(if that's possible)

Do you remember when we replaced Peruzzi with VDS? That worked out great didn't it? I don't know if you've noticed but there aren't many WC goalkeepers out there & i can tell you that any club would take Buffon in a heartbeat injury or not.

Using his financial package isn't a good argument because it can be revised to suit everyone's needs.

Since when is Kjaer quality though? that's what I said B ;)

Replacing quality players with somebody who is younger but of equal level :)

He's on too much money thats the main reason we would let him go he's on like 10 Million+ a season with tax.

He's also 33 in January, granted Buffon's a very good keeper but if an offer came in at around 20 Million we should take it.

Quite the contradiction, Nick.:D

enough with the superman talk..he will stay,I just dont see Juve letting him go,especially with Del Piero looking to retire soon..we need Buffon more than ever when there is no Del Piero..

In other news,im hearing Elia wanting to move, any truth..a bid in January would be great
