Juventus' transfer campaign will be conservative and, if necessary, discreet as Giuseppe Marotta excludes moves for Sampdoria's Antonio Cassano and Alberto Gilardino of Fiorentina.

Reports on Monday suggested a swap deal between Amauri and Gilardino was likely, while others mentioned the arrival of Antonio Cassano, who discovers the outcome of his rescission case later today.

But Marotta was quick to play down the hyperbole as he closed the door.

"We will not make important investments, the players who arrive, if they arrive, will have to improve the team, otherwise we will stay as we are," he told Sky Sport Italia.

"We must remember we have the most prolific attack, and an excellent midfield. We don't have to buy.

"The voices on Amauri and Gilardino are unfounded. And as for Cassano, I cannot see that we will get him as we have different plans."

Nick, i'm kinda disappointed that you haven't started the Tevez to Juve rumor yet.:p I wonder what Citeh will do with both Adebayor & Tevez wanting to leave. There's a possiblity they could recoup the money they paid for Tevez in the summer, not in january imo.

Adebayor is horrible, i don't see any club offering more than 10m for him.

Still I'm not sure how many teams are willing to take a gamble on Tevez, I'm unsure that there are many teams willing to invest into a player that already expressed his desire to retire from football.

If there's any player worth taking a gamble on, it's Tevez. Mental issues aside the guy is sublime on the pitch & barca/real would definitely cough up the cash to buy him, especially Real with their lack of attackers.

Benitez might even be tempted to make a bid for him to divert all the attention from the teams poor string of results.

He is definitely great player. But I'm concerned about his ambition to continue playing football, now even at City there are reports if he doesn't get permission to move abroad he will retire. Is it me, or he is talking way too much about retiring for a 26 year old player?

However there is no doubt that club like Real would immediately try to sign him.

He's bluffing, he's living the good life & he knows it. I bet you it's a ploy to get his wife back.

If he somehow managed to get his contract rescinded, he would be the most sort after striker out there.
