We wanted Dzeko, but we never stood a chance in that deal. Competition was too strong and he was simply out of reach.

Even our board talked about it and said he was too expensive so it has nothing to do with the non-EU spot. We just didn't have enough cash to sign that guy.

We are not a small club, not a poor club...we did have the money to sign him,we just did not want to spend that much money to sign him when there is marotta and del neri sitting on the shoulders promising to squeeze everything outta average players..

Marotta was our biggest mistake, then del neri

No way we had 30mln for him, along with his high wages. Money was the biggest problem.

We just spent too long tailing Dzeko when it was a tough transfer even without the non-EU rule. Remember Marotta had to start from zero in terms of transfers in May and assemble a squad to play ELQ in July and Serie A in August. It's already been said that he didn't have to make massive changes, but when it is agreed that the team will shift formation that usually requires at least 4 changes.

But that changing of the formation should be considered as a mistake, too, considering our performances this season. Whether it be the straight 4-4-2 or diamond midfield, neither has worked for the most part. So that means the system wasn't the problem, it was the personnel on the pitch, on the bench and in the stands.

that's just stupid,no?....i gotta say i said the same thing a lot of times just befo quag got injured, then marotta started showing his true average self and started making panic buys...and worst now he keeps supporting DN

IMO the first person to be fired should be marotta, followed b del neri and then the dead wood from the team

All I gotta say is that if they won't buy top players because we won't reach the CL then they can forget about even reaching it in the future since Serie A will now have only 3 spots for it.

We have to make an effort now and be basically forced to dish out the cash especially in wages to bring those top players for next season.

If we continue with 4-5 ok players that won't do. 3-4 big signings are needed PRONTO!

If not, we'll be in deep sh*t like we've been since 06.
