Yes you do see people blaming Secco for signing Diego and Melo, because they were well overpriced and underperformed. Melo has improved overall but still isn't a €25m player. We are talking about hindsight though, right? 'Quality' is also subjective.

I have a funny feeling we are going back to this 'ambition' thing of yours, where you have to spend money and lots of it or you have no ambition. We could have course spent another €25m each on two players this summer and been 'ambitious', but it would still have involved selling all the players we did in reality, because that's how we balanced the books. We couldn't just add them to our existing squad.
25m wasn't an overprice for Diego at the time. Diego was young and he was playing an amazing football and also lead his team to the finals in the Europa League, players like that tend to cost around 25m. If Marotta signed Neymar and Neymar ended up failing I wouldn't blame Marotta. But if Marotta ends up signing a bunch of crap players that we all understood wouldn't lead us anywhere(like this season) I would blame Marotta for it, because, really, what did he expect when signing them?

No he won't, do you see people blaming Secco for quality players like Diego and Melo? I would appreciate him for it and if Neymar ends up flopping I won't blame Marotta.
I have repeatedly criticized (blamed if you will) Secco for both the Diego & the Melo deal. And will continue to do so.

The part that really irked me about the Melo signing was that Secco had stated repeatedly that Melo had a 25 million buyout clause, and that is what they paid to get him.

Hadn't he ever heard of negotiating?

Messi has a 250 million buyout clause. If Inter were to pay that buyout to get him, would they be lauded for making such a bold move, or would they be laughed at by every circle in the world of football for paying that amount? Not that they aren't laughed at already, but I digress

Sanchez, Neymar, Pastore, and etc all are pipe dreams in the presence of the current management. It would be great to have any one of them. Personally I would go for Sanchez

I would love to have Honda, Boswinga, Cissokho, Jovetic, and Mascherano.
Sign Quag, Matri, and Aquilani on a permanent basis.
Sell Amauri, Iquinta, Martinez and Sissoko
Send back Motta, Traore

Buffon for Menez? Seriously Menez is nothing special and I know that buffon is struggling but you dont sell an Icon to get a player like him. Even if he paid for half of Pastore fans would at least be more comfortable I would think down the road

Damn you for not being a rich club president and damn me for not being a player agent. I'd make fortune out of selling you half the Brazilian beach football team and all the jugglers from the nearby circus.
:D

You mentioned this before :p

Anyways Balotelli seems to have burnt bridges at City.

Made in Italy? :tuttosport:

20 Million I'd take him.

Nick.

Mino Raiola: "I have some good ideas for Marotta if he wants to hear them."
He has proposed Balotelli and Maxwell to us ;)

Moggi also said a few weeks ago.

'' If I could take one player to Juventus now it would be Balotelli ''

Oh man having Balotelli here would be fucking amazing.
