no to kyrgiakos,ok to de michelis, yes to tasci, yes for bocchetti,no for manfredini..
but wouldn't it be better if we just get a player who could play lb very well and still be a decent central defender,if only caceres was still our player,we'd have no problems in that area..

I've seen him since Depor, to cut a long story short it was my girlfriends team, even saw them live, he was good there and at Villarreal but I still consider us a different level of team to those. Sure, Spain have a lot of pretty average left backs, so I'll meet you at above average :D
I did not say I want us to sign him, not because we can aim higher, clearly we cant do fvck at LB since Zambro, but because the guy is like 33, and unlike CBs, old Fullbacks dont last long. Only thing I meant with the posts is to correct this silly notion of a player is either great or "sucks dick" as Ahmed eloquently put it.

I think our main aim now must be to strengthen the defense. We need some full backs that can actually defend and our defenders need to be able to read read the play correctly.

I was looking for highlights of the Milan game and I came across this.

It's obviously made by a Milan & Ronaldinho supporter and only shows the good things Ronnie did but it does show how an opposition player with creativity and vision can still tear us apart. With short and long passes he was able to split out defense and when he could be bothered running he got into some really good positions and put us under big pressure.

I know it was a friendly and I think that our mercato has been relatively successful so far (easy to say before a ball has been kicked) but I still think that our defense needs strengthening.

Juve eye Barzagli and Bocchetti
Monday 23 August, 2010
Juventus are looking to reinforce their defence with the signings of Andrea Barzagli and Salvatore Bocchetti, according to Tuttosport.

It's no secret that the Bianconeri want to bolster their backline ahead of the transfer deadline.

Earlier today, they were linked with a move for Bayern Munich's Martin Demichelis, who would become their back up centre-back.

However, given Juventus' philosophy of signing Italian players a move for Barzagli would be preferred in Turin.

Barzagli only has a year left on his contract at Wolfsburg and has worked with Gigi Del Neri in the past.

Meanwhile, Bocchetti is being earmarked for the left-back position even though Genoa aren't enthralled by the offer of a season-long loan.

Juventus have sounded out alternatives, the most sensational being a swap for Milan's Kakha Kaladze in exchange for Fabio Grosso

Would be pleased with the both of them.
