He is not great, thats why he is neither bad or great, but a medium. And he is a "weak link" EXACTLY because they have a top player in all the other 10 positions but LB, hence he is the weak link. Not because he plays badly (contributes decently), but because isnt Ramos, Pique, Puyol, Xavi, Iniesta and so and on.

I knew you would say that, but as I said, I am talking about him as a player and generally, not just in recent times. Average players always look better in great teams, he is no more than average. To the point - he is an improvement over De Ceglie, but that's not saying much. He would be coming into a Juve that is nowhere near the level of the Spain team.

I remember when they used to say Zebina was the weak link our Defense back in pre Calciopoli.

And up until this mercato he was considered one the better players in our back line. :sergio:

I'm not sure what you on about, but I mainly know of the player from watching him in Deportivo and Villareal, not playing couple a times a year for the NT (though last year in Confed cup, he stood out extra bit by assisting most of Torres goals, unusual amount of their attacks/goals went through his left side). And he wasnt riding on backs of others in Deportivo, but one of their better players. Just as he is for Villareal.

And not to be semantic, but most of the LBs in the top leauges or this level are average (or if you want to mention spanish ones only), he is clearly above that.

I've seen him since Depor, to cut a long story short it was my girlfriends team, even saw them live, he was good there and at Villarreal but I still consider us a different level of team to those. Sure, Spain have a lot of pretty average left backs, so I'll meet you at above average :D
