Now there's a player I've never rated at all, which plenty of people around here seem to like for whatever reason. I really hope that's BS.
Demechelis is shit, i thought everybody agreed on that. I think even Burke would tell us he's been a liability for Munich

He wouldn't, compared to Van Buyten.

IMO, Martin isn't as bad as people make him out to be.
Ya Va buyten is probably worse. Still, Demechelis is a really poor defender, and he was a liability for the Argentine NT in the WC too.

I don't watch a lot of Bundesliga, but Demechelis was quite poor in several games in the CL last season too.

Who is even realistically available for a LB?

Everyone keeps mentioning Treadmill, but is he even available? His defensive prowess, or lack thereof, from what I've read from Fred's comments, really makes me concerned. Yes,granted, offensively, I'm sure he will be more than capable, but goddamn, if he gets caught out of position, the opposing team has a country mile of free space up that flank

I have no idea. To be perfectly honest I don't mind using DC this season and see if he grows defensively. He has a good cross, speed and isn't afraid to surge forward. We have had an excellent mercato so far and it seems it isn't over yet. I'd be happy with DC.

Van Buyten is definitely worse, but I remember some discussion about Bayern's CBs during last season, people were trying to convince me Demichelis is actually a good defender.

Shame I don't remember who it was.

it would be a big mistake to start the season with dc as our starting lb. we have seen what the kid is capable of and i can't understand how some people expect him magically to change and to produce much more.

i mean he has been given a lot of chances and he has shown that his quality isn't enough for the starting spot.
