I'm really really skeptical about Motta's ability to improve his defensive skills. If he gives away goals I'm blaming you :p

On a serious note, does Treme dude know how to defend? I know Aush is gaga over him, but is he any good at the back?
:D

Not sure, I saw his last match and he used to disappear a lot behind. He had some strange role, I know I remember seeing him running from DM position to cover left side. He didn't seem that good in defense IMO.

Not nearly as good as VdV, I would sell one or two of those instead of VdV.
And VdV stated yesterday he won't leave Real
Would not make sense as they signed Leon and Canales in this transfer window. Supposedly Canales should be one of the greatest prospects in Spain.

:boh:

I agree that VdV is probably better, but my point is they have plenty of dept, and VdV seems to be heading for a bench role...

Him starting yesterday (and scoring) means nothing imo....

What we need in defence is a kick-ass LB and a decent 3rd CB who could also be a backup for Motta. Someone like Mellberg before, or Caceres last year - not a world beater but preferably with some potential. That would let us sell Grosso-Zebina-Grygera trio and would left us with only 7 defenders but 2 per each position.

The only problem seems to be our willingness to sign these players though. Tremoulinas is a rumour brought to life by 4-4-2.com and we've not been linked with VDV in ages.

Like Andy said a few times though, I don't think DelNeri would even think of a player like VDV for CM.
We don't seem too willing to sign anyone of any worth at the moment.. except for Dzeko that is. Maybe we should spend the rest of the mercato trying to get him.

i was wondering what marotta had doing this days.. just get Krasic, Trémoulinas, Bocchetti and a decent CM... and we are done! forget about dzeko... we need the team to gel up quick!

The problem with buying Tremoulinas, Bochetti, Krasic AND a CB is that the CB most probably won't be decent. Our budget will be way too stretched and we'll have to make concessions in quality when it comes to our purchases.

Reflecting on Juventus’ transfer strategy as a whole, Marotta said: “I can confirm that there are two priorities: a left-back and a right winger. The others are linked to parallel operations.

if he fails to get this 2 players, he's a failure.. you have to keep your words and thats a promise to the fans imo..

No, I am not Kidding Because I don't know too much About Poli :andyandbarcelona:
Oh, my apologies then. Poli is quite the young player. Even Dusan is convinced. That's all you need to know.

I just realized something. The company I worked for is named Poli Mortgage Group, Inc.

Hmmmm..............................................

Maybe my owner can fund this transfer.

:agree: Couldn't agree more.

Doesn't make me confident about the quality of the left back though. I don't see any options even close to Contrao. I think he'll just buy Krasic, a crappy left back and see us out till the next mercato. Hopefully he'll redeem himself.

What's really bugging me about this mercato is the attention to Dzeko. If Agnelli has 30m he's willing to spare to improve this team dramatically then why must it only go to Dzeko? We could make a 15-20m bid for Contrao and spend the rest of our funds on the Krasic deal. We wouldn't be completely revolutionised but at least we've bought two players who look like they'll have a better chance of shining at Juventus for years to come, rather then spending money on patch up jobs.
