- If Pepe was so sufficient how come Marotta's been trying to sign Krasic and Elia in the first place??
Sort of agreed, but it's Martínez I'd say instead of Pepe. €12m is quite large, and he has said he prefers to play on the RW. If we're going to spend €15m on Krasic, then that sort of money on Whore Hey would be useful for the LW, Elia.

Pepe is a useful squad member. Versatile and hard worker.

Sorry, but the players he has brought in apart from Bonucci have been mediocre. You go on about how it's Marotta's job to handle these dealings, but at the same time it's his job to convince us of his abilities.

So far, he has not. Usually I give these guys a full window but this time I can't. It's been too mediocre and nonsensical.
Are you serious? Knee jerk reaction at it's finest.

This is what you sound like.

"Screw Marotta for not being able to right every wrong the previous BoD made in one transfer window."

This is REAL LIFE after all and not Football Manager. We could have had any DS in the world and they wouldn't be able to fix what Secco, Blanc and co. have fucked up over the period of 4 years.

But yeah fuck Marotta he's had a few months, and the season still hasn't started so we don't know what our signings will do or are capable of, but still fuck that guy. The window isn't even closed yet but screw him it doesn't matter who he signs they're all crap. Unless it's Krasic that is. Krasic is going to solve all our problems with his little serbian toes.

Screw him up the butt for trying to offload our fringe players on high salaries that no one wants. Secco and Blanc had a major role in giving them such high salaries and long contracts but 'F' Marotta for not being able to sell them all on for major profits. Even though no clubs out there want them.

This shit is really getting old. Every day this is the majority of what is said about Marotta. Let's give Secco years, but if this guy isn't working miracles within 2 months of taking the job then he's crap. Screw the extra revenue we lost by missing out on CL. Marotta should be fundning the WC signings, anyone else on this board could make in two shakes and a jiffy, out of his own pocket.

Not good enough Marotta. You haven't turned 7th place Juventus into the best team in the world in 2 months.

What a ****** joke. Makes me wonder how long some of these people have been watching football or if they even understand the complexity of the majority of transfer dealings.

Jeez... the guy see's Lion posting his funny pics and gifs and he just gotta hop on the bandwagon. Sorry son, maybe next time.

You're defintely no Lion.

and all of you, save your words and insults for marotta for the end of mercato, there's nothing over yet,we'll sign 3 more players.be patient and stop overreacting
Its not a knee jerk reaction though. This is a critical evaluation of his work so far..and its been utter shit.

He's been given his opportunities and he's fluffing every one of them. Can we realistically believe that he will pull it all together last minute? He's had so much time and so many opportunities, he's apparently been given adequate funding by Agnelli but he's done so very little. This has nothing to do with reversing the bad work of our previous BOD, but everything to do with how he's further contributed to our problems in such a short amount of time.

He has no sense of time management. He spent most of his time and effort on the Krasic and Dzeko deals, deciding which he would buy when it was clear all along that Wolfsburg weren't going to release Dzeko anyway. Meanwhile he's playing hardball with CSKA and when they do meet his demands, he decided to ignore the deal all of the sudden because he still has a hard on over Dzeko. The man's off with the fairies thinking he will get him this mercato.
He hasn't shown proper interest in one left back since Aogo and that's arguably our most desperate position.

Now all of the sudden our main points of interest are Barzagli, Kaladze, Ladesma and Zogbia. You fucking kidding me? I've been patient and open minded for long enough, we might have turned a corner in some respects but a dramatic revolution is what we needed.

He WILL NOT sign ADEQUATE players for the LW, RW and LB positions before the end of the mercato. Mark my words. He's left it all far too late.

Sounds like the characteristics of a good backup.

His inablity to finish the Krasic deal is ridiculous. I think the hopes to sign Dzeko has everything to do with it.

Those first two didn't happen and it's far too early to comment on the third.
I read from a few sources that we paid Camo 1m.

Absolutely.

Good moves:

- Bringing back Lanzafame
- Motta
- Bonucci
- Storari (although that is questionable seeing as he never offloaded Manninger and I thought that was why we bought him in the first place, so now we have two excellent back up keepers which isn't much use to us).

Bad moves:

- buying Martinez for 12m
- Pepe
- Offloading Tiago for only 500k
- Paying Camoranesi to leave for more then we sold Tiago for FFS
- Offloading Ekdal and Poulsen creating CM shortages.
- Selling Giovinco for 3 million
- Not selling Brazzo, Grosso, Zebina, Gygera.
- Even contemplating the 16 million euro bid for Diego.
- Wasting time considering buying players even more mediocre then Pepe and Martinez
- Inability to finalise deals for Krasic (should have been easy), Elia or Bastos.
- More time wasting on Agnelli's wet dream, Dzeko which was clearly not going to happen as Wolfsburg had told us several times.

On reflection its clear that Marotta's campaign has been terrible. Not only has he been unable to sign players worthy of starting for us, he's overpaid on mediocre players and was ripped of on several departures as if we're footballs biggest charity. We now end up with a variety of new players who really don't improve us to any dramatic effect that we were expecting and new found and previously existent deficiencies in important positions (CM, LB and both wing positions). Quality is yet to arrive, mediocrity remains and we're leaking funds on these ugly transfers. And how many days does he have to redeem himself? He is not going to sign Elia, Krasic and a left back of any quality before the transfer window closes.

Marotta is evidently shit. Dump this guy before he damages us further.
Just a few things here:

- we are loaning Pepe, and I also believe he will show his worth. If you are expecting Garrincha, then maybe I can see where you are coming from.
- we loaned Tiago for €0.5m.
- letting players leave for a payoff also saves us on wages, it would cost us more to keep them. Look around the market, nothing is happening, especially for ageing players on high salaries.
- we sold half of Giovinco.
- you don't know that the board contemplated a €16m offer for Diego, that's just what the media are saying.
- you don't know what players we are considering buying, and how could you possibly know, from the media?
- inability to finalise deals? Does that mean if you don't throw money at every deal then that is a failure? We are not Real Madrid.

I agree on the Martinez signing, seems uneccessary right now especially for the price, but we haven't even seen him to judge. I am also worried about the lack of central midfielders, but also can't believe that Marotta doesn't have someone lined up for the fourth spot.

we didnt sell half of gio, and how about not seriously addressing any of our weaknesses with less than 2 weeks left?

Nothing personal in football buddy .

I just don't see how people can look at what Marotta's done (or rather what hasn't done) so far in comparison to good transfer campaigners and come to an optimistic conclusion about where we're at as a football club in terms of our full recovery.
Some of his moves have been nonsensical to say the least and his approach to the whole mercato has been lethargic and unorganised.

:agree:

Exactly - plenty of time left in the market, time will tell how he has performed.
There is no point judging him now, there isn't really much point in judging him until we see how we get on this season.

I can't really be bothered right now so I'll be short.

- Martinez scores more goals then Elia because Martinez is a SS. That's right we're paying 12m to play a decent support striker as a left wing. Elia is a much better option.
- Krasic is also a more proven player then Pepe. He's played well in the CL and WC and Pepe played ok in Serie A. He shows much more class with the ball, and is quicker. If Pepe was so sufficient how come Marotta's been trying to sign Krasic and Elia in the first place??
- Poulsen should not be considered dead wood. He's useful, and without him we now have a CM deficiency.
- Buying a few high profile players each year is how great teams are built on a tight budget. If we bought two or three big names this year with our complete budget I would have been satisfied. Its quality not quantity during the mercato.
- You want to talk about young talent? Ekdal and Giovinco are gone!
- We got ripped off severely on the Tiago deal. Should have been around 5m.
- We SPENT money to offload Camoranesi and haven't ridden ourselves of Brazzo, Grosso etc. This is testimony to his inability to negotiate. Its unbelievable how many negotiations he's started and hasn't been able to finish. And the ones he did finish we got ripped got ripped off on. Namely Tiago and Giovinco. If he expected 6m from the Tiago deal how did he manage to only get 0.5m?

The guy is useless. Really can't wait to see him fired.
-Martinez played plenty of games on the wing. Pepe has cost next to nothing. Both players provide depth to a system that we need to play under Del Neri. We have no wingers, we need them to play in Del Neri's system, we do not have a bottomless pit on money.
-The reason he is going after Krasic/Elia players is that we need more wingers as we currently only have 4 and one of them (Camo) is leaving.
-Poulsen is 30 years old, we need money, he is on high wages. £5.5 is not a bad deal, lets see who we get in before the window ends.
-I agree with you on the selling of players though.

But like I said there is plenty of time in the window left, most business goes through in the last week anyway, so there is no need to panic.......YET.
